Also known as a temperature sensor. This part is used to detect the temperature within the oven cavity.
**The following instructions only apply if the connector piece is different than the original.**
Prior to cutting the leads, please check the length of the wire you will need.
1. Cut the leads on your original sensor and the replacement sensor. Be sure to leave enough length to strip and splice the new probe and original connector together.
2. Strip the insulation, or wire cover, back approximately 1/4 inches on the new probe and original connector.
3. Twist the ends of your new probe and original connector together
4. Use a wire nut, or another high heat fastener to cover your exposed wires.
5. Install your new oven probe and re assembly your oven.

Easy repair except that plugs didn't match
This is an easy and fast repair that basically anyone can do. The only problem I had was that upon pulling it out of the box I noticed that the plug was different than what I needed. The temperature was irratic the entire time the stove was on. I would set it for 350 and it would go up to 425 then down to 275. It was all over the place.

the oven stoped working and an F3 displayed on the board also a smell of gass was present
thanks to you 'r assistsnce First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires, and changing the regulator was just as easy.
I removed the back panel, about 6 screws, then found the probe which was attached by 2 screws. Unscrewed them and unplugged it. Plugged the new one in and replaced all the screws. The oven works like a charm now! No more F3 errors!

Oven wouldn't heat up-panel kept showing F-3
Pulled out the stove, removed the screws that held on the back panel, took out the 2 screws that held in the element and disconnected the wires and put the new one in. I put the screw back in and was finished!

error sensor on display when oven was used
I looked up the error code on line and found it was likely a faulty oven temp sensor. I was able to find the part and diagram at partselect.com and placed an order. The probe was in stock and arrived within a couple days. The repair took only about 20 minutes and works fine now. Thanks for your help partselect.com! Jim

I set oven to bake and set temperature. The bake element just continues to glow red hot and oven gets extremely hot. Have to hit cancel to shut oven off. Also temp light on controls is very dim.

If the oven is not heating correctly, then the issue is likely with the oven sensor, sometimes called the oven thermostat, and you will need to check it with a multimeter. When testing the sensor with a multimeter, the sensor should be tested at room temperature. You will need to measure the resistance between the two prongs at the end of the sensor connector. Replace the oven sensor if the reading is less than 900 Ohms or more than 1200 Ohms. Also check the bake element to make sure it is working correctly as well. I hope this helps. Hi Stan, Thank you for the question. Testing the temperature sensor probe on your oven is easy. With the sensor at room temperature, measure the resistance between the two prongs at the end of the sensor connector. The resistance of the sensor should read approximately 1080 – 1090 ohms at room temperature. Hope this helps!

I set temp at 375. Then i hit pre heat. When the buzzer and goes off and light goes out my temp. Is only325 or lower.Could this be the oven probe ????

If the broil element is shorted out, the oven may not turn off. Inspect the broil element for holes or blisters. To determine if the broil element is shorted out, use a multimeter to test the element for continuity. If the broil element shows continuity from the terminals to the outer case, this indicates that it is shorted out and you may need to replace it. We hope this solves your problem!

I have an oven that does not heat up. I have looked high and low for a thermal fuse but do not see one. Resistance is in spec for the element. Does this part control how the element heats up? I have not checked resistance as i was assuming it was a thermal fuse to which i cannot find. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

My oven doesn't heat up on broli at al, l and bake very slow and convection bake alright. The stove top works fine. But checked voltage anyways. Thought the broil element was done, so got a new one but wasn't that. Tested temperature probes ohms and didn't get the 1080, so could the temperature probe cause that or is it a computer. I don't see anything fried.

Hi Adam, thank you for your question. There are a few parts that could cause this issue in your appliance. First I would say test your elements with a multi meter to see if they are working correctly or not. They should be reading between 0 - 50 ohms to be working correctly. The other part you should check would be your oven temperature sensor. That can also be tested with a multi meter and should be reading between 1000 - 1100 ohms. If those three parts are fine however, then the issue may be in your control board. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
