Ignitor burnt out
I removed the broiler burner assembly held in by 5 screws across the inside top of the oven, as I removed the assembly the igniter slid out from the back of the oven and was attached to the assembly with a cannon plug, I disconnected the cannon plug and removed the whole assembly out of the oven and replaced the igniter which was attached
... Read more by two screws and reassembled in the oven. Where I live in remote Alaska calling a repair technician is not an option, either figure it out or have a new appliance barged in.

The gas oven is not working ,when i turn on the gas it takes awhile to ignite and the last time i got a boom . I called and the girl and she gave me the part number for the broiler igniter. I had this problem years ago and i don't think she gave me the right part number.Please help thank you serial # vf17088226l looking for oven igniter

Smoke from back panel.Found that # 1 pin on control board had over heated (burned) and no longer connected to control board.That pin (pin 1) controls the oven igniter that pin over heated for some reason.Could it be the igniter is at fault.Board has to be replaced. Should I replace igniter?

Hi Edward, Thank you for the question. Yes I suggest replacing both part. The igniter could be defective and giving off to many amps. Good luck with the repair!
