Question:

My door bin keeps cracking prematurely is there something wrong with it?

Wendy
Answer:

Hi Wendy, that’s a great question! Unfortunately, a cold refrigerator can break down plastic, and make it fragile. The most common reasons your bin is cracking would be very low temperatures in your unit, or the bin being overstocked.

Kids broke the bottom of the door shelf bin

I removed the broken bin, ordered the part using the part number on the back side of the shelf and in less than a week, the bin was here.
Needed some stretching to make the bin "slide" into place, but other than that...it took me all of 30 seconds to install it.

HINT: make sure you order the correct part using the numbers on the pieces. I made that mistake the first time around with another refrigerator part. I think it was the meat compartment drawer.

Original shelf door bin plastic cracked

No tool was needed for this minor repair.
Using both hands to press both tabs on shelf bin and then pull up and slide right out old cracked shelf. Installing new part was easy. Lining up bothside of the tab with the notch, using both hands to apply little pressure for plastic to bend then slowly pop the new door shelf bin in place.
Repair took less then 10 minuntes for both lower bins.

Broken door bin

I just had to slide the bin into the slot, perfect fit.

Your site was easy to order from. The pictures of the items are fantastic! I had to call to confirm the part number, and a friendly women took my call and verified that your part number can differ from my number.

I ordered the bin on a Thursday morning, and it arrived at my house Friday afternoon... i was shocked! How do you do that?

Thank you! I'll keep your site in my bookmarks.

The shelf in the door broke.

It was a nightmare! The refrigerator door stayed in the yard in a vice nearly all week. I cut the door
free of the hinges with a torch. Then drug it down the hall and out the door with the winch on my log skidder. Then accidentally run it over with the tractor when I dropped my beer while trying to pick it up with the loader. After I got it clamped down to the heavy steel table I was able to beat back into shape with my good ole BFH (Big Freaking Hammer). After I had the tractor tread dents out I then proceeded to fix the shelf. I used a pneumatic chisel to get it free of the rest of the door then beat the new one into submission till I got it in. Then it was ready to go back in. With the help of my handy chainsaw and trusty crane, I was able to set it in through the hole I made in the roof with my chainsaw. Welded her back on and she was good as new (with the exception to some minor dents, scratches, and a large rip on the outside, but close enough to the bottom so you don't notice it to much). She cools like a dream again, especially now that I can keep the milk in the door

One of the "hooks" on the shelf broke.

I ordered the part, received it the next day, opened the box and slid the shelf into place. It took me longer to get in the box, remove the packing material and the shelf than it did to put the shelf in place and all my fridge items back on the shelf...SO easy!

Broken shelves

They fit right in perfectly in less than 10 seconds. The most difficult aspect of the task was being positive that the shelves matched the original parts before ordering. They arrived at out home in less than 3 days from the time we ordered them too.
