Lower impeller froze to housing and sheared off at shaft - lack of use caused this problem

Removed: tower and spray assembly, pump housing cover, volute cover, nylon retainer, lower impeller, sleeve and seal assembly. Replaced the sleeve and seal assembly and then the impeller. Reassembled. The small, square hole, nylon retainer was not shown in the diagram and it took me a while to recognize that it had to slip off the shaft before the broken impeller and sleeve and seal assembly could be removed. That was the trick.

Dishwasher wouldn't drain

Took out basket. Removed spray tower assembly and plate at bottom. Lower impeller was stripped so won't push water through drain and part of impeller was still stuck on shaft so had to pull off with pliers. Removed old impeller and put new one on and assembled in reverse order - drains great now!

Dishwasher would not drain.

First I removed the spray tower. Then removed the spray impeller. Next there was a plate I removed. Under this plate was the lower drain impeller which was stripped out and would not engage the drive shaft.

Drain impeller broke

took assembly apart down to the impeller. Worst part was getting the broken part of the impeller off of the pump shaft. With long nose vice grip plyers it was easy. Drawing is a bit confusing.
