Pulled old knob off and replaced with new knob. The hardest part of the repair was finding the part and partselect made that easy as well.
Simple fix; just placed the new knob on the dryer. Fit perfectly. Best part was how quickly the part came in the mail! 2 days later. Very pleased with service.
Very easy - Found which knobs I needed then made the order ( Which was very fast with shipping) And put the new ones on without a problem, the fit was perfect !
Got the proper part and it worked great
I opened the envelope that was waiting on the porch when I got home from work, opened it up, and pushed it on the shaft. It fit like a glove and looks more durable than the old one was. She'll never know I broke it. :)
I had my landscape guy, who volunteered to look at the dryer since he's also an electrician, come in and take a quick look. he turned the knob, pulled it off and told me the inside was cracked so it would not grab the turn mechanism. Who knew? I got the model number from the dryer door, checked in on the internet for Fridgedaire parts, found Partselect.com, ordered part, came next day, knob fits, dryer works. end of story. THANK U!!!
I grabbed the new knob I ordered from Partselect.com with my right hand, aligned it, and put it on. Works like a charm!
replaced the knob. The key was the photos. It was celar that the part you had was the one I needed beacuse the phots were clear and with enough angles to assure me I was orederig what I needed.
1. Unplug or disconnect power.2. Remove dryer top and knob My top was an undercounter so I removed only the four 1/4 inch head screws.3. Unscrew, from the front, the two timer screws.3a. Compare the new unit with the old to be sure the new part is the proper replacement part. Mine was.4. Note and record on paper the positions, colors, etc. of the seven or so wires.5. Remove the three or so wires that are nearest and easiest.6. Rotate the timer body and remove the other wires.7. Assembly is the reverse. Be sure to refer to your drawing of the electrical wire connections.I spent around two hours on the project though, replacing duct tape with aluminum tape on the 4" exhaust pipe connection, vacuuming lint, cleaning the dryer etc. But the actual replacement of the timer was quick and easy.
I ordered the new knob on a Thursday morning and received it the very next day. I will diffenently use PartSelect.com again and refer my friends.
The Dry Knob was a no brainer, I just replaced the existing knob. The Dishwasher handle was fairly easy. I had to removed the dishwasher door and remove the broken handle. Removing the handle was a bit difficult, but once it was removed everything else went very quickly.
