Remote Style Pump with Motor

First, remove the 2 screws that hold the lower front cover in place, remove the cover and disconnect the plug and the ground wires from the pump. Next attach the washing machine drain hose to a wet vac, since even if the machine is empty, there will still be water in the outer tub and the pump. Suck the whole thing dry, remove the 2 bolts that hold the cover onto the pump, use a pliers to remove the 2 hose clamps, remove the hoses (no mess because of the vacuum). Remove the 2 screws that hold the pump to the base of the washer and remove the pump. Save the mounting bracket from the bottom of the pump. Orient the outlet on the new pump to match your old one if needed, instructions to do this are included with the new pump. Install the mounting bracket onto the new pump. Mount the pump to the washing machine base, reconnect the hoses, the cover and the wiring. Put the drain hose back into your drain. Run the machine, check for function and leaks. If all is well, replace the lower cover. Don't forget to tell your wife that the job was a whole lot harder than it looked.

Vacuum all water possible from the tub. Remove the front panel to provide access to the pump. remove the pump from the washer, but leave the hoses attached lift the pump into the bucket, and remove the clamp from one of the hoses. clip the hose partially off the fitting and drain water from the rest of the tub and hoses. It may be necessary to reattach the hose during this draining process to keep from overflowing the bucket. When the lines are empty, remove the other clamp and remove the hose from the pump. Be sure to disconnect the pump and check the hoses. I have found a sock in the tub drain line twice, which either stopped the line, or blocked the impeller. replacement of the pump is the reverse.

First I turned off the water. Since the pump is at the front of the machine,it was easy to get too. I then removed the hoses by squeezing the hose clamps with pliers. I removed the electrical plug and then removed the 3 screws holding the pump to the base. I changed orientation of the outlets per instructions,which was very easy. Installation of the new pump was performed in reverse. I had difficulty getting one of the hose clamps back on and changed it to a screw clamp. I turned the water on,ran the machine and checked for leaks. Partselect saved me several hundred dollars in repair costs.

Very easy - veins are held in with one screw, when removed just slide to front of the washer and lift out. Pump assembly is a remote unit complete with drive motor. Take 2 screws out of the water shield, then unplug power to the pump motor and the green ground wire. Slide a cloth under the machine at the area of the pump to catch the water when the hoses are removed. Remove the hose clamp from the rear of the pump and the clamp on the discharge hose. You may be able th remove the hoses now, but if not remove the two bolts that hold the pump to the washer base & then remove the hoses. When you have the pump out you have to change the mounting base to the new pump. Also you may have to rotate the new pump discharge side with the motor (instructions are included with the new pump) - mount new pump, attach hoses, clamps,wires and water cover. Install front door that was removed at the start - pump in in the front right corner after removing the access door in front.

Pump replacement quite simple - most difficult part of job was figuring out how to disassemble outer washing machine panels. Pump required disconnecting 2 hoses and an electrical connection.

ordered the new pump,its a lot more heavy duty than the orginal.had to change the mounting bracket somewhat. the new pump mounted bythe bottom of the pump housing and theold pump mounted by the side of the pump housing. so, wnere the curve was in the mount, I used the bench grinder to cut the curve out to make a flat surface for the new pump to rest in ,also drilled two 1/4 inch holes in the mount for the bolts to mount the pump.

Disconnected power, removed hoses, removed housing and pump. Re oriented drain pipes on pump to align with washer hoses (just twist collar and re set) attach foot bracket and secure to washer bottom. Attaching the hoses with the compression clamps was a bit of a problem until I used pliers to press the ends together and then an adjustable wrench to hold them tight. Slid on hoses and released clamps. Replaced electrical and secured pump cover. Done in about 15 minutes.

just change the new pump conected to trhee wires and two pipes.

Loosened top of washer from spring tabs and leaned it against wall, removed two phillip head screws from the front bottom panel, removed panel. Removed spring clamps from 2 hoses( make sure water is drained from tub before doing this!!) on pump, removed 2 wire connectors. Used nutdriver to remove 2 screws that held down pump. Replaced pump and everything else installs in reverse. Almost forgot, the plate that holds the pump to the bottom of the washing machine has to be removed from the old pump and attached to the new one.

At first I thought the o-ring may have wear out so I took the pump out to check, but the leak was either from the shaft seal or body itself (hard to tell as body had corrosion on it) taken out the pump was very easy, but you need to use the right pliers to easily remove the spring clamps. Follow instruction to set the housing orientation, and than install back the pump. Reinstalling one of he hoses using the spring clamps took few tries, but it was in place in no time. remember not to install the cover before you operate the washer to verify no leaks. This work is realy very very easy.

After pulling $4.50 out of one of the hoses. I found that the fins inside the pump were gone. LOL I purchased another pump from partselect.com and proceded to install it. It was a simple installation, the hardest part was getting the hose clamp off of one of the hoses( it was one of those dang clamps you need a pair of pliers to remove). I switched the mounting brackets from one pump to the new one and reinstalled the pump. Machine was running in under 1/2 hour. Thank you partselect.com

First, I unplugged the washer then removed the front panel to the washing machine, then the pump cover, then the two hoses connected to the pump, draining them into a small bowl. I removed the ground wire and electrical connections.

Then I removed the two bolts holding down the pump and removed it. I had to pivot the hose connections on the pump to match the old one. Once I did this, I removed the hold-down bracket from the old pump and installed it on the replacement pump.

Getting the hoses clamped back on the new pump was a challenge, and I finally used an automotive clamp on the rear hose. Once the hoses were connected, I bolted the pump back in, reconnected the power and ground connections and replaced the cover.

Overall, it was a fairly straightforward installation and the only challenging part was the hose clamps.

This is the third time it has been replaced. They last about 2-3 years. Made sure pump was full of water before starting etc so we didn't start with a "dry" pump.

The actual repair and parts ordering went just fine.

Fairly easy repair to replace the discharge pump assembly. Remove the access door, pump shield, disconnected the hoses, remove the hoses, and the pump housing screws. Orientation of the water pump had to be changed to match original, easily done by rotating the pump hosing. Installed in reverse order and job was complete
