Icing up
Unplugged and defrosted the unit. Took the back off. Unplugged the heater element. Plugged new part in and replaced back. Plugged fridge in checked next morning. All good

Does the frig drain plate perform as the evaporator heater? What is the test for this part?

Hello Jay, thank you for your question. Yes, the Evaporator drip pan and heater PS4169414 collects condensation from the evaporator and prevents the drain water from freezing. We have a video that may show you how to test it. Good luck with your repair.
