Dishwaster would not completely drain

My dishwasher was not completely draining. I took the arm that sprays the water off and felt for something that might be stopping up the drain....finding nothing, I took the seal to Home Depot to ask if this ring was broken or if the gap was supposed to be there. The "you can do it, we can help" guys didn't have the faintest idea. So I came home and looked up parts for Whirlpool dishwashers and landed on your site. Found that the wash arm bearing ring was missing on my machine (don't know where or how it got off it's intended spot...never did find it). So I ordered the missing part and fixed it myself. Did I say that I'm 77, a widow and live alone....so I was quite proud of myself. Thank you for such a helpful website for DIYers.

Nut holding the lower wash arm broke off

Found the problem, Looked at partselect.com & found both the hold down nut & the washer for the nut. Ordered both pieces & waited for their arrival. Opened both bags when parts showed up & found the nut has a flat area for the washer to rest against, That flat area was broke almost in half. I was pissed just getting a new piece from a company and seeing this. I had no option but to try & use the nut as it is. I was able to use the dishwasher again, but the nut will not stay with the correct tension on it. It catches on the arm to much & tightens its self up so then the arm will quit moving.

Wash arm retainer nut snapped off

I UNSCREWED THE REMAINING PART OF THE RETAINER NUT WITH MY FINGER AND THEN I REMOVED THE OLD SPRAYARM SEAL AND REPLACED IT WITH A NEW ONE. NEXT I REMOVED THE WASH ARM BEARING RING AND REPLACED IT WITH A NEW ONE. THEN FINALLY I SCREWED IN THE WASH ARM RETAINED NUT WITH MY FINGERS. I DID ALL THIS WITHIN 5 MINS. I SAVED ALOT OF MONEY DOING IT MYSELF. MY DISHWASHER IS WORKING GREAT. I LOVE KITCHED AID DISHWASHERS. I HAVE ANOTHER ONE IN MY 2ND HOME.

Needed a washer arm bearing ring

PartSelect schematic made it possible for me to confidently order the right part. I think it arrived in 2 days. I quickly installed it. Done! Now the only puzzle is what happened to the old bearing. Was it consumed?? Nothing to stay awake nights wondering about!

Dishes not getting clean / rinsed

Watched the on-line video. It was so easy, I ordered the part which arrived in about four days. Easily removed the glassware rack, took out the arm, installed the replacement and reinstalled in less than ten minutes. This was better than anything I could have hoped for with my limited mechanical apptitude. Thanks!

Lower spray arm seal

Unscrewed the plastic screw by hand, removed spray arm and saw the seal was worn. Did this due to the arm did not spin properly and not getting very clean dishes.
Ordered part from Partselect by chance and was lucky I found their site. Parts reorder was very simple.
