The door handle broke inside so that it was all loose and was difficult to close.
Recoved the screws which secured the handle assembly (approx 8). Removed the old parts and screwed home the new parts and replaced the assembly. Worked perfectly.
The hardest thing for me was to decipher the model number as they use '1s' and 'Is' and you can't tell them apart.
Also the part diagrams should have each part number listed to make it easier. Took me longer to work out what to order than do the repair.

Door handle broke on the inside of door
Be sure to shut the power off before you attempt this first step, there are electrical connections all around this area. At first I didn't realize to get at the door handle I only to remove the top four screws on the inside of the door. After figuring this out the job was fairly easy. Once inside the top part of the door, all I had to do was snap off the old handle and snap in the new one. Test it to see if it works before you shut the door.

Wanted to change beige dishwasher front to black.
First , I went outside and turned the breaker for the dishwasher off. Next,I removed the screws that held the bottom 2 pieces, that rest on the floo,r in place. Then removed the two beige metal pcs. . Next I replaced them with the 2 black pieces I had ordered and secured them with the 2 black screws I had received as part of my order. Then I removed the scews from the inside of the door of my KitchenAid Dishwasher. This released both the front bottom panel and the control panel. . I took the beige bottom door panel off and moved the insulation piece from the back of thebeige panel to the back of the black panel. Then I intalled the new black panel I ordered and resecured it with two screws until I had finished with the control panel switch out. I had to unplug an electronic tape from the inside of the beige control panel and plug the same tape back into the black control panel. I also had to remove the beige handle that was on the inside of the control panel, attached to the door, and replace it with the new black one I'd received. I then installed the black control panel and reattached it with screws and finished replacing the rest of the screws I had removed from the inside of the door. I tested the handle to make sure it opened the door and locked it like it should and then went outside and turned the breaker back on. Came in and turned on the dishwasher and did a load of dishes. It looks awesome, matches the rest of my black appliances and I am very proud to have done it myself. I also wanted to thank the customer service lady who was so great to work with on the phone. I would shop with you again.

Unit would not work.
I had no lights on the console. Found the internal fuse blown, as I was looking around noticed the door latch also broken so I replaced that as well. Items were easy to identify from the BOM and repairs completed in about 15-20 minutes. Dishes all clean now.

Door handle was sticking in an up position
First, turn the power off as you need to access the door handle from inside the control panel. There are six phillips head screws that hold the control panel onto the door. These screws are accessible from inside the door. There are two at each top edge and one on each side of the door latch. Hold the control panel on the front side of the door when removing these screws to insure the control panel doesn't drop and damage the control wiring. Once the screws are removed, tilt the control panel away from the door to access the inside of the panel. The latch assembly that the door handle attaches to will come free with a little wiggling (no screws here). Once free, the door handle is pretty easy access. It snaps into place so removing the old one a installing the new one is a snap. Removing the two wires connected to the switch on the latch assembly made things a little easier.

Dishwasher quit halfway thru a wash cycle
first I noticed that the dishwasher wasn't making any noise. Then I saw that there were no lights on the control panel. I opened the door and found water dripping off everything... I closed the door and tried hitting every button I could see, nothing happened. I checked the breaker, it was ok, and since I did all the wiring myself, I knew that was ok too. So I pulled off the upper panel of the front door and got out the electrical schematic that came with the washer. first stop, the TCO, the thermal cutoff, it's like an inline fuse. I got 120 volts going in and nothing coming out. Did an ohm check and it was open. Found it locally and replaced it. Now I've power to the control panel but the washer still doesn't work because the micro switch in the handle is broken and that turns out to be the original problem... the stupid plastic handle broke the micro-switch which shorted the TCO...

Door would not latch.
Partial disassembly determined thar the plastic handle was broken and a tensnioning spring was missing (had fallen out of reach within door) Ordered new replacement parts and received next day. Great delivery service. Installed in short time by removing four screws, disconnecting two wires and reversing procedures to reassemble. Finding parts on line was a great help and the delivery service was great,

Broken handle on dishwasher
Ordered new part(s), parts arrived in a few days, removed the 6 screws holding the control panel cover onto the dishwasher door (requires a torx driver), removed control panel cover (carefully, so as not to break any wires on the wiring harness from the door to the computer board), unscrewed/removed door switch, popped off the the two plastic brackets holding the door handle assembly (door handle, latch bracket, door latch actuator, spring) to the front door, removed the broken handle, installed the new handle, reversed steps, done. Works like a champ.
The one thing I did do at the same time is notice that there's only one return spring for the door handle (even though both the handle and latch bracket have hooks for springs on both sides. I suspect this is what caused the door handle to break in the first place (the spring causes uneven tension on the handle, which over time caused the arms on the handle to catch and break). So I also ordered a second spring, and when I attached the new door handle to the latch bracket assembly I also installed return springs on both sides. With even tension, the handle doesn't tend to twist when it raises and lowers the latch, so hopefully won't break again. Just a thought while you have the unit off the dishwasher.

Handle was broken on both hing sides.
Removed screws to upper portion of door (control panel). Do not remove the lower large panel. Released the clips holding in the slide braket which also has the handle attached. Removed the door handle spring and unclipped the door handle from the posts and slid off. Installed the new door handle by lining up the slots on the hinges with the posts and when you press down it will snap on. Attach the door handle spring to the hook on the handle and the hook on the slid bracket. Line up the pins on the slide bracket and press down untill it locks in place. Line up the control panel to the screw holes and reinstall hte screws. It took longer for me to right this than it did to repair the dishwasher. As a note; be prepared to replace this part often depending on use as it is not a good design. Thankfully it is easy to do.

Door handle broke
I unscrewed the 6 top screws.. (2 on each side and 2 on top) gently pulled off the cover. took out broken handle and snapped new handle in place. Gently replaced the cover, Put screws back in the door. It was really that easy!I am no expert,I am just someone who like to fiddle with things when I can. My husband was REALLY impressed. I am the one who got online, ordered the parts and fixed it all by myself!
