Broken handle
Simple. Found my torx bits, removed the screws, removed the old handle, placed the new handle in position, replaced screws.
This happened because I failed to wait for the click on the machine before I opened the door. It's a front loader and it needs time to drain the water before you open the door.

Part of door latch broke along with door handle.
We had never attempted anything like this. But on Youtube we located a video of the repair. The video convinced us that the repair would be both easy and fast. On Partselect the process of locating and ordering the appropriate parts was amazing easy. Approximately 10 minutes after the parts arrived the repairs were finished, and we're still crowing over our achievement.
