The handle broke off from many years of use

It was just a matter of removing the broken parts which was held by two screws and snapped the seal around the glass to get easy access.

I just want to add that your site made part selection a breeze.Due to the age of my Mic the parts were no longer available from Sears or anywhere else.Your site post exact measurements of the parts so I was able to get a generic part that fit perfectly!

Broken door handle

First removed the inner trim "ring" (actually rectangular) from the inside of the door. Popped out with a slot-head screwdriver and fingers. Then removed what was left of the original handle with a Phillips screwdriver and vice grips. Saved the mounting screws (two). Mounted the new handle with the screws, replaced the inner trim, and pressed in the trim plate on the handle. Took about 5 minutes in all.

Broken door handle

Removed old handle and screwed on the new one. I had to remove the plugs hiding the screwes but other than that everything went well.

Handle broke off

Third time I had to do it. For some reason the handle breaks on this model. The unit is 16 year old. It was one of the first over oven microwaves (built in)ever made. Just remove cover panel with a bread knife. Then use a phillips screw driver and your done. Put the cover panel back on and this microwave has been a work-horse for the past 16 years and still ticking.
