Question:

Having a problem with my dishwasher. It isn’t washing. So checked for blockage and replaced both racks because they were getting grimey. What should I check next?

Sandy
Answer:

Hello Sandy, we recommend checking to see if the water level inside the dishwasher is low. If it is, you need to replace the water valve. If the water level is normal, you should remove the filters and clean them. If the filters are in bad condition you may need to replace them. Best of luck with this repair.

Question:

It seems like the dishes on my top rack are not getting fully cleaned but the dishes on the bottom are okay-ish. I haven’t been doing anything differently but I think I have a problem with my dishwasher. Im not experiencing any weird sounds or leaking though.

Crystal
Answer:

Hello Crystal, we recommend checking the filters in the bottom of the tub. If your filters are clear it is most likely a problem with the choppers. We will need your model number to know for sure. I hope this helps.

Question:

Purchased this part to replace my spray arm and the rest of the assembly. Opened it up and there is no mount in the kit? Is mine missing it or does it not come with it and why wasn’t I warned? Unless this kit has been redesigned and it doesn’t need it? What’s going on?

Annette
Answer:

Hi Annette, this spray arm has been newly designed by the manufacturer and no longer comes with a support. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

The plastic arm holding the upper washer to the underside of the dishrack broke.

I removed the screw that held the arm/clamp assembly to the dishrack, then removed the screw on the underside of the washer arm that fastened the arm to the dishrack. I then installed the new arm/clamp assembly, and screwed the washer into the new arm.
Easily done in about 10 minutes. Works great.

The long part that is attached to the spray arm broke off.

First I unscrewed the element that held the arm and the broken piece in place. I looked the pieces over to be sure how to connect the new pieces correctly. Then i popped them into place and attached the new screw. Super easy!

Upper spray arm broken

I removed the old parts and installed the new in the same manner. Quite easy. The spray arm kit had a part that I didn't see where it went (because the old part was gone), but I figured it out.

Water supply tube had more or less disintegrated!

I removed one screw, pulled out the old parts, put in the new and replaced the screw. Couldn't have been easier and saved me a service call and fee! And the parts arrived in about two days between Christmas and New Year's! Amazing!

The holder for the water inlet for the spray arm fell off and on to the heater coil melting it.

Removed the top dish rack. Removed one screw holding the spray arm. Installed the new one and placed the new water inlet holder to the top rack. Replace the top dish back in the tracks. Easy repair!

Plastic spray arm had deteriorated and had holes in the bottom

Removed bolts & clips holding old spray arm in place. Replaced with new parts. New parts fit perfectly and dishwasher is back to nearly new working order (upper rack dishes are so much cleaner!). Being that the appliance has been used almost daily for the past 11 years, we thought we'd need to replace it. For $25 we fixed it ourselves - and hopefully it will last a few more years. This is our 2nd repair using PartSelect - thanks for saving us money!

The plastic tube bringing the water to the spray arm for the top half of the dishwasher burned through leaving a huge hole.

This was super easy. With just a socket wrench, I unscrewed the top and bottom bolts. Removed the old parts. Placed the new parts on and screwed the bolts back on and poof, fixed. No technical parts to remove or anything. It took longer to open the plastic to get the parts out than to put the new parts on. And to think I considered calling a repair man! That would have been an expensive fix compared to doing this myself.

Dishwasher was missing upper spray arm

I looked at the diagram offered on this site to figure out what I needed (easy!), ordered the parts (easy!), got the parts (easy!), then tried putting them on (frustrating at first!) I tried to see how it worked before putting it together, but didn't think the parts would fit. So I put it together with the screws, and it all fit perfectly. Easy!

The spray arm was cracked

All you had to do was slide the top rack out, remove the end clips and remove the rack. Once the rack was out you flip it over remove the screw holding the arm, remove the old arm and screw in the new arm. Make sure your clearance is good, slide the rack back into the dishwasher and replace the end clips.

The top rack spray arm disintergrated, along with the rinse aid dispenser cap, and other plastic rack pieces.

I left the repairs in my husbands capable hands and walked away. I now have a "new" dishwasher. Thank you for having what was needed.

Old spray arm had melted at the end

Very simple, I trashed the old parts and connected the new parts with only one tool, a Phillips head screwdriver.
