Dryer would not heat.

I checked to see if the fire of the gas dryer would start, but nothing. Changed the ignitor coil with kit, used the same socket screw, unplugged the cable and removed old ignitor. New one was placed in and reconnected and finished in less than 5 mins.

Wouldn't heat/timer wouldn't work

Take the front panel off, remove the two philips screws in the bottom of panel to get it off. Unplug the start switch (two wires) set aside. Unscrew the igniter (one hex head screw) remove igniter. When replacing igniter place a wash rag or soft material down 1st so that the fragile igniter doesn't get bumped, it will break easily. Put the screw back in the igniter, plug in the switch, put the door back on. The dryer will light & the timer will work.

No flame. Igniter cold.

Unplugged the machine. Removed the front cover by removing the 2 Philips screws near the bottom of the front of the machine. Unplugged the igniter. Replaced it. Put this all back together.
Note: Fire will not stay on while front cover is off or door is open.

Dryer was not heating

My boyfriend did the repair. He had no previous knowledge about repairing appliances. He broke the first igniter we purchased b/c he did not realize how fragile it was. But, after we got the new one everything went fine. The dryer works great!!

Dryer was not drying clothes

I went to a repair website to see what some of the problems could be and tested for them. I checked the power starting at the circuit breaker box and went all the way to the igniter. I discovered that the igniter had a small break in it and determined that that was the cause for dryer heat not coming on.

There was no heat in the dryer

removed the bottom panel from under the dryer(2 screws). you can see the igniter next to the burner. used a sock wrench to loosen the screw holding the igniter. not easy to get in there with big hands. removed the connector. had to wiggle it to get it loose. screwed new igniter in to place. be sure to use old screw, new one supplied was a little to long. plugged connector together. started dryer to see if was working correctly and it was. closed cover and was done. saved myself $129.00. thanks

Gas dryer would not heat up

I checked the sensor and other components for continuity and found they all worked ok. I check the Igniter and found no continuity or resistance. That was the problem. Installation was easy. One screw and a two wire plug.

Opened the door where igniter is located. Screwed the part onto where it belongs and connected the plugs. Closed the door. Viola!!! I did it myself. Me, a 61 year old lady. Go me.
