This thermistor is designed for use in your room air conditioner. Also known as an evaporator thermistor, the function of this part is to monitor the evaporator temperature. If your air conditioner is making your room too cold, or is not maintaining a consistent temperature, you may need to replace the thermistor. This part has two different ends, one is made of metal and the other is made of red plastic. For this part, the resistance reading in a 75-degree room should around 4.5k ohms. Be sure to disconnect power to the air conditioner before you begin this repair. It may be helpful to remove the air conditioner from the wall unit before you begin this repair.
