Washer would stop running between wash and rinse. Would have to go tap on the top door to get it to go again.

I watched the repair video on parts select.com and was almost identical to mine. It did take me longer as I had to drag the washer out in the kitchen where there was more room to work on it. I rplaced the door switch acording to the video, put the washer back together per the video. All went well, dragged the washer back to the laundry room, hooked it all up and ran a test run. It worked perfectly . I have done a number of washes since the repair and it is working perfectly. I want to thank you for the repair part, which I almost bought locally for $16. more than the part and shipping from partsselect.com, the exellent r4epair video, and the super fast shipping . I will defenitely use partsselect.com when and if I need more repair.

Lid switch failure. Washer would not empty or spin.

After finding the part online, I watched the video and was able to change it out in about 20 minutes. It was literally 3 screws and a couple of clips ! 5 years ago I paid a repairman $159 for the same job! Thanks !

Water leaking from the front of the machine

watched the videos on the partselect web site, they were very helpful.pulled the cabinet from around the machine just as described.changed the door switch with a phillips screw driver.i didn't lay the machine on its back to change the pump as was described in the video. i drained the water from the pump (2 cups),pulled the pump(it required alittle force)it was corroded on the shaft.used a file to clean up the shaft so i could install the new pump.installed the pump and cabinet.it all worked great and saved me alot compared to a new machine.

Washer not draining and not going to rinse cycle

the reason i selected a bit difficult was my washer is outside on the backyard patio,it was dark, after work, during the week. i had the part in 2 days, instead of 3-5 days per when i ordered it.the video helped out a great deal.i just followed the video to do the repair which made it so much easier.if it was day light it would have been a quicker repair.thank you part select, you saved me at least a 100.00 dollars if i would have called a repair man.i hope this helps out other people when they have a repair like mine.thanks again,Roger.

Lid switch failed, tub wouldn't empty

Checked around for correct part number, PartSelect had the best price, even with shipping, and it came fast. I did watch a repair video that really helped (right on PartSelect site, very helpful). Pulled plug, moved machine out from wall, unscrewed two screws holding rear panel on, pushed it forward a bit, and flipped it over to reveal two clips (on on each side) holding the cabinet to the back frame. Also unhooked wire harness. Pulled and tipped cabinet forward to allow access to underside of cabinet. Removed old lid switch (two screws on cabinet top - under the lid) and pulled the wire out of the channel loops. Unscrewed ground wire from cabinet. Put new switch with wiring harness in and secured it with two screws. Attached ground wire to cabinet. Put wire in channel loops, and reconnected wiring harness on top side of cabinet. Toughest thing was getting the cabinet back onto the frame. Took about five tries to get it to latch correctly at the bottom front. Then lowered cabinet, scooted it back to the back frame, re-secured it with the two brass clips, flipped the control panel back, made sure the three locks fit and slide it forward a bit. Reinstalled the two screws on the back and that was it. Plugged it in, and tried an empty load to make sure it drained.

Washer stopped spinning and rinsing

put in the model number on the website. Selected the symptoms. The site gave me the problems that normally fit the symptoms. And even the percentage of chance that each solution had of being the fix. The website also provided a video for the uninstall of the old part, which was the lid switch, and the installation of the new part. The video was excellent. I set my laptop up near the repair area, where I could play and pause the video. The entire repair took about 20 minutes. I am a customer of Parts Select for life now.

Washer would not drain

I did my troubleshooting on line. I took the water pump off, flushed it out, and used a coat hanger to ensure the hoses were not obstructed. Put the water pump back on and reassembled the washer - still would not drain. Checked the lid switch by listening to hear it click, which it did. So, I assumed it was the water pump, so ordered one. Two days later my son-in-law said he experienced the same problem, but it was the lid switch. I decided to check the switch again, this time using my hand to see if it was securely fastened. As soon as I grabed the switch, it sprung apart. I removed it and followed the instructions on how to hot wire the connection for a by pass, and the washer drained. Needless to say I ordered a lid switch assembly. Now I have a new water pump as a backup :) Lesson learned. Opinion: the lid switch assembly is very cheaply made.

Broken lid switch

We followed the instructions in the 'How to' video, just as it is shown. The part itself took about 10 min. to remove the old one & install the new one. The clips are quite stiff so we used a screw driver, the same way as shown in video.

Washing machine would not spin or rince

Found the part @ your company, which is a shut off switch when the lid closes. My neighbor came over (electritian)and took a look @ it with a voltage meter and found the problem. The switch was broke, therefore ordered a new one took a look @ how it came apart and switched it and it was fixed. I saw a brief video of how to fix it and followed how to do it and that was that. the repair was simple, just use a screwdriver to loosen the 2 brackets on the bck after you loosten the top button rack. fold over the frame while disconnecting a few clamps and wires fix the repair and put bck same way. My suggestion is to watch a video, take some notes and off you go...enjoy.

Timer doesn't advance; washer doesn't completely fill with water during rinse cycle

After searching the Internet for solutions to my problem, I figured ordering a lid switch from PartSelect would solve everything. I watched the how-to video before I receieved the part and, when installation time came, I felt pretty confident that I could do it without watching the video again. It was super simple! I think it took me about 20 minutes from start to finish. Now the timer on my washer advances, although I'm still having the rinse cycle filling problem. Overall, I think anybody can do this simple fix.

Washer did not spin or pump water.

Removed the top console and disconnected the wire harness to the Lid switch. Tilt the washer body back and lifted off the frame. Removed the lid switch and harness and re-installed the new lead. I was working in a tight, confined area and this made the repair difficult and lenghty. I suggest moving the washer to an open area before removing the washer body (cabinet) as it is easier to move when the unit is in one piece and unassembled. This would reduce my labor time to about 30 - 45 minutes. The new part was of excellent quality, fit perfectly and was fairly priced. Shipping time was very prompt as the part was in stock. I will definitely use PartSelect in the future.

Washer would not spin or empty water

I considered calling a repairman but decided to troubleshoot a little to see if I could fix the problem since my clothes were soaking in soapy water. I figured it was the lid switch so removed the 2 screws & took the switch out. The switch was beginnig to separate so I held it tightly & pushed the tab and to my relief it began to empty & spin. I was able to complete the load of laundry and ordered the part from your web site. I compared the price of the part with local merchants & big box stores and all of them were $15-20 more. I also got a couple of estimates for installation and couldn't believe it was over $100. I watched the film & thought yeah right it looks easy but it was probably due to editing. It wasn't. I got the part the next day and with shipping it was still 8 less than the cheapest local store. It took my wife, daughter & I about 35-45 minutes to install and it went together pretty much as the video showed. Great web site. Thanks.
