Washer would not spin

remove control panel, then washer cap. The replacement part was exact duplicate. Removed two screws, panel clips, slid off cap after disconnecting wiring harness. Removed three screws, took out old part, put in new part-slip cabinet back in place, buttoned it up,,,,finished.

The video for replacing the part was first class and excellent!

Lid safety switch

I watched the video sent to me in an e-mail and it went smooth as silk. when putting the outside shell back in place one needs to remember to keep it tilted away from the front of the machine so it will clip into place. the video was a great help!

Washer would pump but not spin out on rinse cycle

I had a repairman come in several months ago and he said eventually I would have to have the lid switch replaced. He wrapped some electrical tape around the old switch and left. He did say when I wanted to replace it, it would cost me $69 for a service call and $129.00 plus tax for the part. I am a 69 year old female on a limited income and when I went to your site I found the part for $35.00 which included shipping. I watched the repair video several times and was confident enough to replace the part myself. I did and I found the hardest of the installation was getting the washer pulled out from the wall. Shipment was here in four days. I am very pleased with the results.

Washer would not drain or spin during a regular cycle.

Followed directions from your how-to video. My son helped me and everything went fairly well. We had a little bit of difficulty replacing the washer cabinet. Ended up we needed to tilt it on the front side as it kept hanging up when we failed to do this. After figuring that out all went well and I am a happy camper with a working washer. Thanks for the video it made all the difference in my having the confidence to undertake this repair. I really could not afford to call in a professional and am grateful to your site for the information provided.

Washer stopped would not drain or spin

After putting in the problem in Google saw several You Tube video's on possible causes. All listed a bad lid switch could be the problem. I removed the 2 screws that held the switch in place. The switch was broken into. I ordered a new switch from PartsSelect web site. The site also provided a video to showed how to replace it. Hardest part was reinstalling the cabinet. This fixed the problem.

Broken lid switch

My wife was very distressed when the washing machine stopped working in the middle of the cycle, and she had to bail water out and finish the load by hand. I asked her to descibe exactly what happened. From her story, I entered keywords from the broken washing machine tale of woe. Online, I found parts-select, which correctly identified the problem as a broken lid switch, and, had a video of the correct proceedure to install a new one. I went to the useless appliance, and lo and behold, the plastic fittings on the lid switch were in fact broken. I ordered a new lid switch from parts-select, and after the part arrived, followed the installaion video, pausing it after each step, and repaired the washer. Washer works, and so does the wife. Thanks parts-select!

Washer wouldn't rinse or drain

I saw the video on partselect of my model of washer being repaired. So I ordered the part and it was delivered in less than two days. I followed the video instructions and replaced the part on my washer. I put the washer back together and tried a small load. I crossed my fingers that the lid switch was all it needed and when it came to the spot where it would stop it kept right on going. I have since washed several loads and everthing works great. Paying $34 dollars for a part with shipping is a lot cheaper than a new washer. Thank you

Lid swithch quit working and washer would not cycle through to spin cycle

I watched the online video of a similar switch repair which gave me knowledge of how to make the repair myself. I did receive some assistance from my wife in putting the body case back in place. It basically consisted of removing 6 screws and unplugging the old wiring harness and plugging the new one in. The reapir cost $34.00 plus my time. It also took the parts a couple of days to come during which time we didn't wash any clothes. Watching the video made all the difference in me being able to do this as I had never made a washer repair before. $34.00 vs $500 plus. What a great bargain.

No spin cycle

Disconnected power cord. Removed two screws from top console and rolled it back to access case clips. Unsnapped clips and tilted case forward and removed lid switch connector. Removed faulty switch and replaced it with the new assembly. Re assembled washer and tested for correct operation.

Washer would stop after agitating and would not drain or spin.

I watched the video on how to replace the lid switch and followed it. I was amazed at how well it went. The part was purchased cheaper online vs. the local appliance repair. Thanks to the video, I saved myself apx. $114.00 by not having to call an appliance repairman for a service call. Thank you.

Washer was not draining - lid switch replaced

The video that is available on the site was extremely helpful. I followed it step by step. Everything went well until I was ready to put the cover of the washing machine back on. That step ended up being a two person job. Even during the how to video the putting the cover back on took the repairman a few times. Doing this repair myself saved me from a huge repair bill.
