repalced bulb.
The instructions from another customer was helpful. I concur with another comment I read while researching this proceedure. What Idio-- would design a microwave that required pulling the unit from the wall and removing the top panel just to access. It is good idea to unplug the transformer and capacitor wires before proceeding. I also googled a schematic to see the parts layout. Remember not to touch the bulb with your fingers. Use a cloth or paper towel.

This is a small halogen light bulb for the microwave. This is the third time it has had to be replaced.
This is the third time that the bulb went out.It took two Sears service technitions to remove the entire appliance out of the cabinet. The entire top has to be removed and the insolation has to be pulled back to get to the electrical wire. I am waiting for an appointment to get Sears to do it again. The door springs have broken and you have to make sure the door is closed before walking away. It has a heavy glass and the weight is pretty heavy. Robert.

Light out and Door spring broken
Remove side deco strips to remove screws that hold to cabinet. Pull microwave out and set on saw horses (power cable should be long enough to do this). Remove screws to top cover and lift enough to remove all connectors from the front panel pcb. Remove grounding wires from next top lid. Remove connectors from transformer on rigt side and the two connectionss at the rear fan assy. Remove top cover/vent assy. Remove the next top cover to get access to the light bulb assy. Use a cloth or kleenex while handling the new bulb as you replace it. The clip thta holds the bulb is easily released and use reverse procedure when assembling. For springs those can be replaced without removing the microwave from the cabinet. Remove the 2 screws that hold the door together accessed from the inside of the door at top. Pull door up to release from the clip at the bottom. Remove the broken spring and replace with new one. Use a screwdriver to help twist the torsion spring to clip into place. Replace door assy in reverse order.

How to replace the light bulb. I do not have a cover, and cannot pull he bulb out by hand
For model number KBMC140HSS03
PartSelect logo
Hi Keith, Thank you for your inquiry. You are looking to replace a bulb on the inside of your appliance. You will have to go through the top vent to be able to replace this part. First make sure you disconnect the power. Then remove your vent above the door. This should expose the top insides of your microwave. Your bulb will be attached to a socket inside. Just pull it out gently and then replace it with a new bulb. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

How do you remove old bulb in oven
For model number KEMS308SSS04
PartSelect logo
Hello Mary, Thank you for the great question. First step is to please make sure the electricity is turned off and the or the oven in unplugged. Once there is no power to the oven you will need to remove the glass cover over the bulb by removing the small retaining clip, once the clip is removed you should be able to slide the cover off. You can pull the bulb out of the socket and push the new one in place and then reinstall the glass cover. You may need to use a screw driver to loosen the clip that holds the glass cover and then tighten it once you are done. I hope this helps. Good luck with this repair!

Is there any way of replacing the bulb without pulling the entire unit out from the wall cabinet? If not, please take me through the steps to access the bulb in the microwave and associated parts (spring, lamp holder, bulb, etc.) which inadvertently got pushed up into the space on top. Poorly designed and a pain!
For model number KEMS377GBL3

Hi Tony, thank you for your question. If you have accidentally pushed the assembly up into the inner parts of your microwave then you will have to pull it out if you cannot fish it out yourself there. There is no other way to line it up if you cannot bring it back through yourself there. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

How do I replace this bulb? Do I have to remove the entire micro wave oven? Or just the top vent? How do I do that?
For model number KBMS1454SSS1

Hi Donna, Thank you for the question. Here are the steps a previous customer took to install the lamp. "Remove side deco strips to remove screws that hold to cabinet. Pull microwave out and set on saw horses. Remove screws to top cover and lift enough to remove all connectors from the front panel pcb. Remove grounding wires from next top lid. Remove connectors from transformer on right side and the two connections at the rear fan assy. Remove top cover/vent assy. Remove the next top cover to get access to the light bulb assy. Light is out in microwave. Looks like led bulb. Is it and how to replace it ? What is part number.
For model number GSC309PVS02
PartSelect logo
Hi Gerald, Thank you for your question. It could be. It could also be the wiring and socket. You would have to test the parts to see which is giving you the issue. To replace this part make sure to unplug your appliance. You will then remove your control panel. You will have to remove the braces on the top and bottom of the microwave so you can pull it out far enough to get to your light socket. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
