Ice maker solinoid stopped working

Researched the "Exploded" view of the part on PartSelect. Turned off the water supply to the solinoid unit and shut off the ice maker. Removed the two screws holding the solinoid into place. Remove the existing water line from the old unit (they are slip in/slip out type) and pushed the existing water line onto the new unit. Turned the water supply back on to check for leaks (none were found) and turn the ice maker back on and waited for a couple of cycles to clear the air out of the lines. The ice maker appears to be working better then before. Maybe the old solinoid was try to tell me something (could not keep up with ice demand) before it went out.

Icemaker water leaking due to crack in water inlet valve

I followed the instructions on your video. I'm a 69-year-old female with a hip problem. The most difficult part of the job was getting back up off the floor when I finished.

Valve damaged by water freezing in it

Removed old valve - very easy and intuitive. Identified damage and ordered new valve kit. Installation was easier than the instructions said. It was not necessary to trim the plastic water lines.

No water to ice maker

I shut off water to the fridge and then unplugged it. I used an adjustable wrench to remove the water line from the unit. I took a 1/4-inch nut driver and removed the screws holding the access panel and the 2 screws that hold the unit to the fridge. I disconnected the 2 electrical connections and all the tubing going into the unit. I reconnected the electrical and the tubing and reattached the unit to the fridge then replaced the access panel. I reattached the water line, plugged fridge back in and turned on the water. I flushed the line for about 2 minutes. It was a very easy process. It took approximately 5 hours for the first cubes of ice to drop so be patient.

Ice maker would not make ice

I ordered a new ice maker because at least a couple of the parts on my old one were broken. I also ordered the valve because I wasn't sure that wasn't also the problem (turns out it was still functional). I removed the ice maker cover, one screw that held a shroud over the water inlet, another screw that held the ice maker to the inside of the freezer, disconnected the wire harness, and slid the ice maker out. I reversed the procedure to install the new one. It was a real breeze! I have returned the valve to Partselect and have been making ice ever since. SO much easier than buying bags of ice all the time!
