Dryer stop working after I moved the timer setting while dryer was running. So I replaced the thermal fuse while I had the dryer away from the wall, plus the lint filter was torn.

The repair was easy, what took the longest was cleaning the lint from the inside of the dryer and the housing that holds the lint filter. The inside of our dryer is now as free of lint as the day we bought it.To make the repairs I pulled the dryer away from the wall and removed the vent hose and unplugged the dryer from the outlet.I then removed the screws from the back panel so I could replace the thermal fuse. I did this by removing one screw from the thermal fuse and pulled it free from the dryer.I then installed the new thermal fuse and screwed it to the dryer. Then I removed one wire at a time and installed them to the new thermal fuse.I then screwed the back panel to the dryer.Next I removed the screws and panel behind the control panel of the dryer so I could replace the timer.Once I could see the timer I compared my timer to the new one before doing anything else. Then I removed control knob from front of timer.Removed the screws holding old timer in place.Installed new timer to dryer with same screws and installed control knob to timer. Then I removed one wire at time from old timer and installed to new one, I did this until all wires had been connected. Then I installed the panel to the back of the control panel with the same screws.Installed new vent hose to back of dryer and plugged cord back into the outlet. Pushed dryer back into place.Remove old torn lint filter and replaced it with the new one.Wife then tried dryer out and it worked. Dryers been working just fine ever since.

A lot of lint is by-passing the old filter and clogs the "critter" screen at the end of our dryer vent assembly (only 8 inches above grade).

I just replaced the old filter screen with the one just purchased and hope it will solve the issue. If not I'm going to have to tear into the back of the machine to determine just why a great deal of lint is by-passing the screen.

Filter screen broke loose from holder, replaced with new lint filter, pulled drum and lubricated parts and solved my squeak problems.

Popped top, removed two screws from lint filter holder then removed two sheet metal screws from front panel and pulled panel up and off. removed belt drive, pulled drum. WD-40 on pulleys put everthing back and dryer works well.

Lint filter was ripped, mishapened

Simply put the new one in. I was skepticle at first since some of the reviews indicated their new filters didn't fit exactly. All I can say is they must not have had the model number of their machine. This thing fits like a glove!
