Broken door switch
The door switch was broken and I had the dryer model number. The part was oredered and it was an easy fix. But documents to instruct you to get the top removed for access to the switch are hard to come by...eventually i figured it out. Each Mfg. has a different way to get at the unit. A basic repair manual would help from the company but it's obvious they don't want the homeowner to do the easy fixes.

Dryer did not start, light did not work
Checked the old part by bypassing it and that verified it was the problem. Opened the front of the dryer, lower panel then mid section screwws to raise the top to expose the switch, remove the old one and replaced it with the new on, put the front panels back together and test run was good

Switch on door fell apart
Finding the obvious was the tough part. Nothing worked, so blamed the power source. Traced the electricity through to the door switch with some help. That took the longest part. Ordered the part on line with ground delivery. It came in less than 24 hrs. Put it in and we were back in business.

Dreyer wouldn't turn on
I noticed that the switch toggle that the dreyer door engages when the dreyer door is closed was broken off. I took two screws in the upper back area of the dreyer and and two screws where the lint trap cover is located and lifted the top part of the dreyer up and exposed the switch. It had a part number on it so I decided to see if I could find the part online. I googled whirlpool dreyer parts and to my amazement it had a section that said enter part number and I did so. Then came a picture of the part which was exactly the broken part. I ordered the part on a saturday night and the part was at my door on tues. mid-day. Wow how easy it was. Thankssaved me money and headaches.

Broken shut-off door switch
Hardest part of the job was figuring out how to get access to the broken part for remove and replace. Popped the top up and wa-la, I pounced upon my prey. The knife helped with parting the wire harness connector. Removed two screws, connected the new switch and replaced the two screws. Replaced the top, and done.
