Cycling Thermostat

First I unplugged my dryer. (220v) I then layed the dryer on its front. I then proceeded to remove the back cover after removing the duct clamp. The two screws holding the Cycling thermostat was removed after the two wire connections were slipped off. I placed the new cycling thermostat in place and put everything back in place and behold...Heat! This was a simple job for even the somewhat clumsy repair person. Good luck and Thank you Partselect! P.S. my order was placed on Friday and it was on my doorstep Saturday morning.

The repair itself was no problem - in changing out the parts but when we were done the dryer still didn't heat. Ended up calling in a repairman and he said we probably would never have found the problem as it was the flame sensor. He also replaced the coils. So now I have those new parts plus the thermal fuse and cycling thermostat that I ordered from your site. Should be good for another 18 years!! This was so easy with the Partselect video. I removed the back of the dryer (9 screws) with a pair of pliers. Took a picture of the cycling thermostat with a digital camara, just in case I mixed up the wires. I removed 4 wires and two screws, screwed in the new cycling thermostat and reattached the wires. NOTE: wires can be pretty tight, a pair of needle nose pliers would have helped.

Unfortunately, my wife did not mention that the dryer was not getting hot, only that the timer did not advance. I hopped back online, ordered the heating element and the thermal fuse, debated about paying for a next day delivery and decided against it. I placed the order on a Thursday night at 10:00 p.m. It shipped Friday and arrived on Saturday evening. I was not expecting it until Wednesday!!

The Dryer is working like new, my wife thinks that I'm a genious and I'm just happy I did not have to help lug clothes to the laundromat Sunday!!!

It was such an easy and quick repair. It took me about 20 min to complete the repair. The easy to follow " How to" video made it easy to replace the parts. Not knowing which part was bad I replaced both. Now my dryer is heating faster than ever.

removed the back panel of the dryer. removed the thermal fuse and removed wires. inserted the new thermal fuse and reconnected the wires. removed the thermostat. inserted the new thermostat and then removed the wires from the old thermostat one by one then coneected them to the new thermostat. the dryer is working better, but not tip top. may be some other issues with the dryer.

After watching the video on your website and doing just a little troubleshooting on the components of the dryer (thermostats, heating coil, fuse) I determined this thermostat to be the problem. I ordered it from your site and had it in a few days. Took me only a few minutes to put it in and the dryer is working great now!

Parts were ordered and recieved the next day. Installation was a breeze, and the handy on line video was a great help.

Replaced thermal fuse, cyling thermal, then replaced thermostat 205F, ptoblems still remained.
Using ohmmeter measured and inspected all components . Found that the valve coils a little bit stick to the shaft. Orderd the two terminal gas valve coil and secondary coil valve - three terminal and replaced. Problem solved. :-)

Followed the repair video, went great, fixed the problem.

And prior to installing all the parts, Thermal Fuse, Cycling Thermostat, High Limit Thermostat, leveling feet, and I even replace the heating element prior to these parts.

Using a adjustable speed drill, removed all the screws off the back panel of the dryer. Then took some pictures of wiring with my cell phone, (for reference on how everything was connected together). Removed the cycling thermostat and replaced it. Then removed the Heating element, put the new High limit thermostat on the new Heating Element and installed it on the dryer. Replaced the back panel and all the screws.

I BOUGHT TWO PARTS AS LISTED, ISTALLED THE THERMOSTAT FIRST AND GOT NOTHING. THEN I INSTALLED THE THERMAL FUSE AND SUCCESS. THE FUSE WAS RATED AT A 46% CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM BUT I AM STILL GLAD I REPLACED BOTH PARTS..

Thought it might be the push button start relay. But, before I ordered any parts I went on YouTube and looked for Whirlpool dryer repair. I found British James. He told me exactly what was wrong (thermal fuse) and what had caused the problem (Cycling thermostat). I changed both parts as per his instructions and everything works great. It's unbelievably the amount of good information you can find. By the way, PartSelect shipped my parts to me incredibly fast. I mean like amazingly fast. I'd use them again for sure.

I and my husband after noticing the dryer would not heat, waited awhile to move to make sure it wasn't faulty wiring in our old rental. When we moved and it didn't work still we examined the heating element and noticed it was burned out. We did not have a tester we just went by visual inspection. We ordered the heating element and attached it and it still did not work. After reading several repair stories on PartsSelect we realized that the Thermal cut off may have been tripped and therefore needed to be replaced. We purchased the thermal cut off kit which included two types of fuses for our dryer and a replacement connector in case we needed to splice the wiring. We also purchased a cycling thermostat just in case. When we got the parts the instructions were fairly easy to understand but it took us a while because the part required us to splice the wire and connect a new end onto the existing wire. (The new thermal cut off did not have the old welded metal connection and instead had a wire that connected the existing wiring to the new cut off) We cut the old wire to remove the head, cut a small portion of the protective rubber around and slid it off the end. We then attached the new head and manually crimped the metal closed. We had to do this to our existing wire and the wire sent with the kit making sure we added the female and male ends to the right wire (per instructions). The new cut off connected to the heating element with screws instead of sliding in and around the bent openings. We then simply reconnected all the wiring as illustrated. The other thermostat and fuse connected the same as the ones we removed.

All I can say is it worked, and it heats and drys well. Thank you parts select for sending the item so quickly. Two days after ordering! Will definitely order from you guys again!
