"Lock On" light always on. Front panel buttons did not cause dishwasher to operate.
I ordered both the front control panel assembly and the electronic control board, more or less knowing that one of these two items would fix the problem. I felt it was more likely to be the front panel, so I replaced that first.

To do so, I removed power from the dishwasher, removed 8-10 torx screws to remove the inside panel of the door. Then I disconnected all of the wires connected to the electronic control board because it is attached to the inside of the front panel assembly. I marked the positions of the door switch wires so that they could be replaced in the correct positions. Once the wires were detached, the control board could be removed by pressing on a tab so it could be lifted off. The hardest part was removing the front panel itself. Because the dishwasher was black, it was really hard to tell where one part ended and another started, but essentially the panel snapped out by pushing on the top from the inside of the door. The panel eventually pivoted down and became free to lift off of the door.

Reassembly with the new panel went just as smoothly. The hardest part was working the new panel into position so that it would snap into place. Once in position, it was a simple matter to re-attach and connect the old logic board, it's wires, the door lock, and the inside of the door.

Testing after restoring the power showed that the front panel did the trick. Since I had never taken the control board out of the box it was shipped in, I was able to return the unused part.

Soft touch control panel quit working
Removed inner panel of the door.
About 8 screws Torquex headed.
Removed cover over electronics.
Unplugged the ribbon cable that attaches control panel to circuit board.
Removed control panel screws, phillips headed.
Removed panel, replaced with new, replaced screws, re-connected the ribbon cable and re-install cover and inner panel.

The part I received from Parts Select fit perfectly, look identical to the original and the dishwashers works as if brand new.
