Broken timer knob
Removed the half of the plastic threaded knob with a regular pair of pliers. Just screwed the new knob on.Which by the way is all metal threads so this problem has gone away

The part I needed was discontinued due to the age of the washer.
I applied liquid nail to the bck of the knob, screwed it on, and left it untouched for 24 hours. Now, it works perfectly.

Replaced the Knob on my Whirlpool Washer
The replacement was very easy. I unscrewed the remaining plastic piece from the original knob and screwed on the new timer knob. The replacement knob seems to be better made than the one that broke. I was very happy to find the exact one on this website. What impressed me about this website is I ordered the part on a Monday evening and it was delivered to my door on Wednesday - very prompt service. I will definitely come back to this site in the future.

Broken dial on my washer
I spent 2 years using needle nose pliers and a glove to set and turn on my washer! Can you believe it!? Then I decided to see if I could find the part on line. There is was.. right here on this site! Today I put it on the washer and voila! ... like new! Easy and quick. Why did I wait so long!

Broken timer knob
I unscrewed the broken stem from the threaded timer stem; I was able to unscrew it with my fingers but could have used needle-nosed pliers. Once I removed the broken stem, I screwed the replacement timer knob into place. Total time for the repair was less than one minute and the replacement knob worked perfectly.

Old timer knob broke off
Removed the remaining parts of the broken timer knob with pliers and just screwed on the new timer knob with no tools - just a quick turn of the knob until it was secure. Easy as it gets!

I have a Whirlpool washing machine. I can push in and pull out the timer knob but the knob spins freely both clock wise and counter clock wise. It does not set the timer dial like it's suppose to. Does this have anything to do with either the timer, timer knob or timer dial being messed up?

Hi Mildred, Thank you for your inquiry. Actually all three of those parts would be something that you would have to look into. I would say check the knob first. If the knob is the problem then you will be able to see physical damage on it. If your knob is fine, it may be your timer that is the issue. Good luck with your repair!

If my timer knob does advance but gets stuck at certain spots on certain settings but not other spots on different settings is the problem my knob or not. Example: the knob stops at spin on heavy load setting but not on the permanent press setting?

My whirlpool washer stops at different points in different cycles. Although the cycle setting knob indicates the cycle has been completed, when I open the washer it is still full of water. I also need to manually hold the knob to get the cycle to begin again. Any suggestions on parts that need replacing? Thank you so much!
