Wash selector knob broke off

I unscrewed the broken plastic piece that was there and replaced it with the new part. Just turned it clockwise with my hand until it stopped.
The counterpart of the new knob is now metal (yeah!!) so perhaps I will not ever need to replace this knob again on my 21 year old Kenmore clothes washing machine.

The plastic knob broke.

Very simple to do. I unscrewed the piece of plastic left on the screw threads. Then screwed the new knob on. No tools required. I like the fact that the knob has a new design. It is metal not plastic. Voila, did it myself.
Unfortunately, there was no more excuse not to do the laundry!!!!!
