The dryer would not heat up.
it would spin and blow, but it would not get hot. i changed the heating element, but that was not the problem. i changed the fuse, but that was not the problem. Apparently there is another fuse in line, and that was the problem.

Dryer was blowing cold air
It's amazing... I fixed my dryer!! I am a 47 year old woman with no technical training, and I did it!
I live in a apartment and I bought the Whirlpool Dryer (Model #LER7646JQ0) USED for $150 about 6 months ago. The dryer started blowing cold air, so I called the place that I bought it from and they quoted me a price of at least $300 to fix the dryer.
After searching through google, I found the partselect.com website, and read the repair stories. I decided to take a chance. I ordered just 2 of the suggest 4 parts that could fix the issue, and the dryer did not work. The next day I order the other 2 parts, and that did it - my dryer was fixed.
The diagrams on the site were a little confusing to me (the dryers looks a little simpler inside) but it was easy to repair. I used a screw driver and plier to do the repair, however it would have been much easier if I had a socket set. I would suggest buying all parts suggested, and return the items you don't need. Here are the parts I used:
1. THRMST-FIX (Thermostat, High Limit 221 F 2. USE WPL 279838 (Heating Element (10" long x 6" wide) 3. Thermal Cut-Off Kit 4. Cycling Thermostat (Limit: 155-25) (Thermostat, Internal-Bias)
Good Luck!

Dryer blowing cold air
Unplugged the electrical connection. Pulled the dryer out of it's area for room to remove the back panel. Removed the back panel (hand nutdriver). Removed the wires from their posts off the heating element (pliers). Removed the heating element. Verified it was damaged (broken heating element wire). -- Tried to replace the Thermal Cut-Off kit... the same type was not the same on the old heating element. I would have had one extra wire unattached if I used the replacement. Moved the old Thermal Cut-off to the new heating element. Reversed the steps with the new heating element. Pushed the dryer back into position. Threw some wet clothes in, the dryer seems to dry faster than before. Happy Wife, Happy Life... ;)

No heat - coil on element burned out.
Bought part for my mother-in-law because her dryer was not getting hot. So I ordered the part from you guys. Waited for three days for husband to install. Gave up on plan A. Got out the nutdriver. Unplug dryer. Removed back from driver. noted what wires went where. Unhooked element. Installed new element. Took time to clean up the interior a bit. Put the back of dryer back into place. Swept behind dryer. Plugged in dryer. Dried a load of clothes.

No heat one day, worked fine the night before.
Hardest part of this repair was getting the dryer out from the wall to gain access to the back panel. After removing 8-10 sheet metal screws from the pack panel, two more screws held the Heating Element in place. I removed the two heavy gauge wires from the elements side and simply reversed the order to install the new unit. Maybe a half hour from start to finish and we had a working Dryer again.

My dryer stopped blowing hot air. Checked to see if vent was blocked and found that it was not so I checked the heating element and found that it was not working so I ordered the heating element, thermal cut-off, and thermostat.
After receiving the parts from PartSelect.com with a very fast TA. I replaced the parts and repaired my dryer in about the 7-10 min. It took me 5 min to replace the parts using a nut driver and about 5 min to put the rest of the dryer together. Thank you PartSelect for saving me some cash...

Clothes dryer would not heat
I had to remove a total of 11 screws in order to access the heating element. They all had the exact same screw head size, so I only needed a single socket for my nutdriver. That was nice! There were three terminals that had to be disconnected in order to completely remove the heating element from the dryer. I disassembled one of the thermostats from the burnt out heating element's sheetmetal frame and re-assembled it to the new heating element, then re-assembled the heating element to the dryer. While I had the back panel removed from the dryer, I replaced the light bulb and the thermal fuse as well. From there I buttoned it all back up and it works as good as new. Overall, this was an EXTREMELY EASY do-it-yourself task!

Dryer would not heat
Well.....my.wife noticed that the dryer would function as normal with the exception if heating. i token off the rear panel and removed the heating element to check it out when i discovered that it was cracked and damaged. I found this website in looking for the part and placed the order, i received the part two days later and installed it. Reattached the back panel and started the unit up...works like a charm . Very pleased with the time it took to receive the part. Very easy to install...just a matter of plug abduction play
