Dryer would not heat
ALL I NEEDED TO DO WAS REMOVE THE BACK PANEL AND THE ELEMENT WAS CLEARLY VISABLE. i DISCONNECTED THE WIRES KEEPING TRACK OF WHERE THEY WERE CONNECTED, SLID THE ELEMENT OUT OF THE LONG METAL CASING, THEN INSERTED THE NEW ELEMENT AND RE-CONNECTED THE WIRES. THAT'S IT! KEEP IN MIND THAT THE DRYER WAS DISCONNECTED FOR SAFETY.

Low heat
Unplugged. I took 6 screws off back and cover came off. 2 screws on unit and it fell loose. 2 screws on thermostat taken off and unit was free, I took the extra 5 mins to vacumn off the 10 pounds of lint & dust out of the back of the dryer. Clipped the 2 wires on to the unit, replaced thermostat and put the unit in place with the 2 screws. Put the back on the dryer, replaced the 6 screws, plugged in and ready to roll. Tested with wet towel, works like new now!

The dryer would get warm but not hot.
Removed the back panel, took out two screws and replaced the element. Turned out the element was fine, the sensors were bad. Replaced them. Works like knew. I had the parts with in two days of ordering.

Dryer running but no heat. All else ok
Hardest part was getting the dryer where I could disconnect the vent hose and work on it. Removed the back ( about 6 or 8 hex head screws ). 2 hex head screws removed the heating coil assemby, I was ready with multi meter to check if power to heater, but immediately visualy seen that one of the coils broken ( there are about 8 coils in series. Ordered replacement on Saturday and received on Tuesday afternoon. Very pleased with prompt shipment. Reversed process and back in business, OH YES, I DID DISCONNECT POWER FIRST THING. Thanks--Les

Clothes were taking twice the normal time to dry
Made sure the Dryer was unplugged. Removed the screws from the back of the Dryer. Removed the screws that held the heating element in place. (mine was located on the bottom right side)Disconnected the the wires leading to the heating element. The connectors holding the wires in place were very snug, I had to use needle nose pliers to remove them. Then I just simply reversed the process. The edges are very sharp also.

Dryer would tumble but with out heat.
I removed the old element then I removed the three wires and I had to remove the sensor from the old element which was not located on the new element. So do not be so quick to throw away your old element, due to it not being on the new one. Over all the installation took no more than 20 minutes. Thanks PartSelect.
Sincerely, Eric Morrow

No heat from the dryer
Remove the plug from the wall outlet. Leaned the dryer over on its front. Removed the back panel screws and back panel. Disconnected the wires from the side of the heating element and removed the 2 screws holding the metal housing and pulled the heater housing away from the main housing. Removed the electrical component for use on the new element. Installed the component on the new housing and attached the housing to the main housing. Reconnected the wires, attached the back panel with screws. Set the dryer upright and plugged in the dryer cord into the wall outlet, turned on the dryer and the heat started flowing.

Dryer would not generate hot air
I removed the back of the dryer with the socket set which included about 8-9 screws. I then removed the two wires going to the safety thermostat on the side of the heating element. I then used the socket set with an extension to remove the two screws (one on each side) of the heating element. You have to pull out the bottom first to get it out of the lip it sits in then pull down. Remove the thermostat by sliding off the terminal clamp then bending the metal mounting bracket so you can slide off the thermostat. Now do everything in reverse and you have a brand new heating element!
Thank you PartSelect I'll be using you again soon to get a new solenoid and spray arm for my dishwasher!

Dryer wasn't getting hot enough
I orderd the heating element on line from PartSelect.com. It arrived in two days. Once I unplugged the dryer and pulled it away from the wall I removed 8 screws with a nut driver. I cleaned all the lint and dust from the back of the dryer and then removed the old heating element by unscrewing the two screws on either side of the housing. When it came out i labeled the three wires and removed them from the old element. I also had to remove the thermosthadt that was on the old element and install it on the new one. I replaced the three wires and re-installed the new heating element into its housing and put the back of the dryer back on. I also installed a new dryer vent while I was at it. Total time about 20 minutes. Thank you PartSelect for your promt delivery and also to everyone who writes in with their repair/replacement tips and stories. Now my old dryer runs like new and I saved a bundle! Robert Louisville, Kentucky
