Dryer would spin but not heat up

After reading through a few of the repair stories online, I figured out the parts I needed. I placed the order for the parts, and they arrived promptly the next day. I replaced the heating elements all of the thermostats using the instruction vidoes from the site. The entire job took less than an hour and the dryer is running and heating better than ever. Thanks for all of your help and support....

Clothes were taking to long to dry.

First I removed the nuts from to get the back of the dryer off (I think there were 8 or so). Then I removed the cycling thermostat (careful to watch were the wires were), I ten installed the new one. I then did the same with the thermal cut-off and the heating element. The door catch kit wasn't what I needed so I didn't install it.
If I would have known it was going to be so easy I would have done this repair months ago!!!

My dryer stopped blowing hot air. Checked to see if vent was blocked and found that it was not so I checked the heating element and found that it was not working so I ordered the heating element, thermal cut-off, and thermostat.

After receiving the parts from PartSelect.com with a very fast TA. I replaced the parts and repaired my dryer in about the 7-10 min. It took me 5 min to replace the parts using a nut driver and about 5 min to put the rest of the dryer together. Thank you PartSelect for saving me some cash...

Dryer stopped heating.

Best guess after looking up information on the Internet was a bad heating element. We also cleaned the lint and cleared the vent. Several sites gave us enough information to locate the heater assembly. After inspection, found nothing wrong with heating coil, which left the thermostats to test. My friend rigged a continuity tester from a flashlight and one of the thermostats was bad. The PartsSelect people got us the right parts, which arrived on Tuesday! Installation went smoothly except we had instructions for only one of the parts. The instructions left us baffled (and I am a tech writer). We reassembled the dryer and pushed the button. It worked and we could feel heat! Not bad for two computer techies

Taking longer than normal time to dry clothes

First i remove the back protective panel, and proceeded to the Elemet housing and removed it from its location for ease of repairs, the actual parts were replaced in less than 5 minutes but while i was this far into the appliance i thought it best to also clean out the blower housing, and that is where i found the biggest part of the problem , which by the way is where the exhaust to the dryer is located and there is where i found at least 4 years of lint build up, so after a thorough cleaning i reassembled the dryer and re installed and checked for proper operation and now all is well, and PS if you can tell by this repair story the problem wasn't the Thermal Cut off relay; no it was a completely restricted blower exhaust.Which by the way is an Extreme Fire Hazard

Dryer wouldn't heat up and dry the clothes.

First, I had to remove the back panel/cover. Then blow out all the lint and dust. Then I had to diagnose the problem which was the thermal cut off switch. Once diagnosed the problem was pretty easy to fix and repair. The parts from part select were resonable and came really quick.

Whirlpool electric dryer would run but no heat

After disconnecting the wires I tested thermal switch with ohm meter. It tested bad. Found the part number for the replacement kit and ordered from partselect.com. New thermal switch fixed the problem.
