No heat from the dryer

first i removed the back cover by removing the six 1/4 inch screws then i removed the wires to the thermal switch there were three of them and using an ohm meter i checked each one for continuity until i found the one that had an open circuit. i removed the two 1/4 inch screws holding it in place and replaced it with the new one.

Dryer would not start

after replacing 3 different parts, the dryer would finally run at a total cost of approx. $80.00. This is still cheaper than a repairman coming to the house, as the service call is $79.99 plus parts & tax.

Dryer would not heat

purchased the thermal cut off kit. Installed it. Dryer still didn't work. The part was non-returnable since we installed it. Then purchased the heating element. Installed it and the dryer worked fine. Delivery time for the parts was superb !

No heat

Used multimeter to check heating coil, it checked ok then checked thermal cut-off it checked open no current could get to coil.I checked all of the venting it was clean with no clogs and made sure the heating fan was working witch could cause dryer to over heat. The dryer is 16 years old and still runs great. DO ALL CHECKS WITH DRYER UNPLUGGED

The dryer is mounted as a stacked washer/dryer

The difficulty arose from the dryer being part of a stacked unit, which is different from a dryer by itself. I removed the back to find something quite different from what the video showed! I had to remove a part to even see the unit I had to remove which was necessary to get at the two thermostat units to replace. The problem was the small space available to get at the bolt that allowed me to pull out the part that contained the thermostats. Fortunately, I have tools and some experience fixing things, so I simply did what I could see I needed to do. Fortunately also, the parts I ordered took care of the dryer problem! Thanks.

No heat

I first repaired the most likely suspects. The heating element and fuse. That did not do the trick. So then I replaced everything else that could effect the heat, that was over 1% of the likely problem. Wala...fixed. Directions were easy, work was easy and the result was a working dryer, good as new. I probably replaced a few items that were not bad but the entire cost was just over $100. A far cry from replacing the dryer at $599

Dryer didn't heat

Followed directions provided and mechancal ability. I also looked at the video. Very easy to fix. Wasn't sure what parts I needed so I ordered the heating element, fuse and cut off kit. I changed the fuse first and then tne heating element. Tried the dryer and it worked. I didn't need the thermat cut-off kit. So far I have kept the kit but it could be returned. I would fix it myself again as I said it was very easy.

Dryer would not heat

Checked continuity of element checked good so started checking continuity of other parts on back in line with elements. Found thermal cutoff did not have continuity although I didnt know it was called thermal cutoff. I entered part number from piece that didnt have continuity and parts select told me what it was so I ordered replacement and installed no problem.

Not drying clothes fast enough

First I removed the back medel cover from dryer by removing 9 screws-holding back cover on-easy. Then took multimeter put on ohms to test cycling thermostat which showed to be no good replaced it- and then sense I had ordered the thermal cut off kit which was not bad I replaced it anyway because I had the back off the dryer ,anyway removed wires being sure to remember where the wires went back- hardest thing to keep stright. But not to difficult. Put back cover back on done with that. Also put new multi rib belt on- easy- take off top and front of dryer. Runs&heats-like new!!
