Ice tray overfilling
Ice tray in the ice maker was overfilling with water, and running out all inside the freezer. Going by similar problems described that other people had, it seemed it was a bad dual inlet valve. I replace the valve, which was very simple to do using nothing more than a nut drever, and a cresent wrench. But unfortunatly it did not fix the problem. Ice tray still overfills with water.

No water or ice at the dispenser
The repair steps are described very well in this website. I would add that the repair was easier than it looked and that I would check for leaks before mounting the inlet valve to the refrigerator.

The inlet tube to the ice maker was freezing.
I unplugged the fridge. I removed the lower back cover. I closed the valve for the water supply to the fridge. Next I took off the compression fitting that connects the incoming water to the fill valve. Then I removed two mounting screws that held the valve to the frame of the refridgerator. The two plastic fittings which connect the ice and water lines from the fridge to the fill valve were removed. Then the two pairs of wires unplugged. I installed the new part in reverse order, wires, plastic fittings, mounting screws, water inlet line. Voila! I'm very happy with the PartSelect service. My part shipped quickly and the price was good. It's very helpful to read the symptoms that others are having with their appliances so that I can feel sure I'm ordering the correct part! Thanks, Sara

Water inlet valve for icemaker and water dispenser inoperative.
Ordered new part, turned off water to system, drained lines and put down towel to catch excess water.
Removed rear cover from fridge, disconnected supply water line from valve and drained it.
Unbolted valve from fridge, disconnected water lines to icemaker and water dispenser, and disconnected electrical wires from valve solenoids.
Installed new valve in reverse order, turned water back on, and checked for leaks.
Tested icemaker and water dispenser for normal operation.

Made ice but no water dispencer
Shut off water supply, pulled electric plug, opened the back and unscrewed the unit from the frame, disconnected the water tubes to the unit and the electric connection clips.
Installed the new unit, hooked everything back-up, and followed the suggestion to run out at least 2 gallons of water to flush out the filter and it worked like a charm..........

Water dripping in ice bin causing ice cubes to freeze together
unplug the refrigerator, turn the water off to the water filter, remove cardboard cover at the bottom with 1/4'' nut driver. icemaker water dispenser dual inlet valve is located at the bottom right (on my refrigerator). Place a rag under the valve -loosen tubing nut-pull tubing out of valve-gently move tubing out of the way (mine is copper)-remove the mounting screw with 1/4" nut driver-pull the valve out and uplug the two connectors. On the inlet valve I received one was purple one green. the old valve was green on the left red on the right opposite of the original just check the terminal ends. One valve has a wide blade connector. Install in reverse order. i cut the copper tubing back about 1/2" and installed a new compression fitting. Turn the water on and check for any leaks, plug in refrigerator and bleed the water dispenser of any air.

No ice or water
We bought our house and discovered the ice maker and water did not work so my husband diagnosed the problem and we ordered the part. It arrived really fast and because he was out of town, my son and I decided to replace the part ourselves. It took less than 15 minutes. I was concerned about reattaching the wires because the old part was removed, but it was simple because the terminals were different so you cant mix them up. The lines were easy to reattach also.

Ice maker quit working
First, I turned off the water supply to the refrigerator. I then used the nutdriver to remove the cardboard covering over the water valves. I removed the two screws and three water lines from the valve with the adjustable wrench and I disconnected the electrical wires from the valves. And then reversed the process and installed the new valve. also, wanted to note that the repair parts came very promptly.

The ice maker stopped making ice
I turned off the water going to the ice maker/water dispenser at the wall. On the back of the refrigerator I removed the 4 screws holding on cardboard insulation cover located at the bottom. I removed the 2 screws holding the inlet valve in place. I disconnected the water lines and unplugged the power connector to the inlet valve. I reversed the process putting the new valve in place and turned the water back on. It works perfectly!

Water valve for icemaker would not shut off.
We were lucky we were home, 1/2 hour later we would have been gone and damage would have been extensive. None of stores in town had the part so checked the internet found this one in just a few minutes saved about $15.00. Valve arrived 3 days later pulled the refrigerator away from the wall, gathered the tools, layed down on the floor, installed the valve, turned on the water and everything is fine. I did have the wires and water lines marked so new how to hook them up correctly. All is well that ends well.

Ice maker was over filling
The ice maker was over filling, then freezing and the ice maker couldn't eject the ice because the entire mechanism was frozen. The only way I could get the ice to eject is to hit the ice maker with a hair drier to loosen things up.I wasn't sure where the problem was, so I purchased a new ice maker and a new valve. I watched the 60 second video provided by this site an the work to replace both parts took 20 minutes. Great instructions. Ice is no longer overfilling and is ejecting smoothly. I have a small drip coming from the water disenser on the door, but that may be due to air in the line. As long as I had it pulled out, I also replaced the water filter.
