Water dripping from water dispenser on front of frig

First I googled the problem. My initial problem, which started about a year ago, was that the water dispenser stopped working.

I still had a humming noise, but that was it. I though the repair would be too costly, so we lived without it. Then water began to leak from the dispenser, which meant I needed to fix it or buy a new frig.

I ordered the part, and it fixed both problems. We now have water again and no leak. The water inlet valve is EXTREMELY easy to fix.

Just take the back panel off the frig, unscrew the 2 screws holding the water inlet valve housing, and take one hose or plug off the old one at a time, and put them on the new one. Very easy.

No longer supplied cold water

Checked to see if solenoid was receiving voltage when water supply paddle was pressed. Since it was not, it indicated unit was defective. After receiving new part. I turned off water supply to refrig, removed rear card board panel (6-8 screws). Removed defective unit, removed two wiring plugs and three 1/4" water lines from unit. Replace with new unit. Reassemble. Turn on water supply, check for leaks, check function and reset refrigerator in place

The water dispenser was dripping

I replaced the water dispenser valve at the back of the refrigerator. Simply remove the cardboard backing with a nut driver and you will see the water valve in front of you. Unplug the refrigerator, unscrew the two screws holding the unit. Unplug the electrical connections, unscrew the water inlet tubes and plug in the new unit, replacing tubes and connections exactly as original unit. Teflon the threads of the incoming water from your sink.

Ice maker didn't work

First turned off water supply. Removed cardboard backing on refridgerater, undid water supply pipe, unscrewed plastic hoses to ice water and ice maker, removed 2 screws holding valve, unhooked 2 electric connectors. Reversed above procedure, turned water on and was finished.
