Flashing 'de' display and warm refrigerator compartment

Vacummed out coils but compressor still ran continuously, yet refer compartment never really cooled. Removed the defrost timer - timer window showed the timer motor was indeed spinning, but timer would only enter defrost mode when I manually spun the small black shaft (of course, that helped immensely by thawing out a winter's worth of evap coil ice!). Ordered a new timer, removed two screws to replace and we have cold beer again.

Fridge was warm, built up of ice in freezer

I had a buddy come over that is a bit more mechanically inclined than myself come over to install it. To remove the old part and install the new one was not difficult to do. I could have done it.

I would also suggest to check the Defrost Heater in the Freezer. We replaced both to be sure. So far Fridge working AOK, saved $$$ doing it ourselves.

Refrig & freezer warmer than normal but could manually reset and defrost. Then good for several days.

Removed guard at bottomof frig. Located timer & performed tests. Manually rotated timer motor until defrost cycle start. Watched timer for several hours. Timer did not come out of defrost.. Rotated timer more until compressor started. Cooled fine several days then started to get warm again. Manually defrosted and started compressor again. Ordered part. Followed wiring diagram on timer for push on lugs. Frig now back to normal operation.
