Is this the same thing as a "damper door assembly"? My repair guy quoted 275 for the part and I'm going to do it, the control board and thermistor diy. Cant see paying 1100 to have it fixed when I can get the parts for less than 250

Will this part resolve the knocking sound (lasts 3 seconds) ever 20 minutes or so.. kinda sounds like a woodpecker in the select temp drawer. thanks!

Hi Mike, Thank you for the question. The only way to know for sure is to listen for the noise and see what area it is coming from. The fan can also cause a knocking. Hope this helps!
