Water leaked out on floor from behind refrigerator.
First turned water source off and unplugged fridge. Then removed back panel, turned water supply back on and saw leak from valve. Turned water off again and ordered new valve. Paid for 3-5 day shipping, but it came next day! Removed single bolt holding bracket it place. Simple firm pull release of water lines feeding from valve. Unscrewed brass water supply nut with crescent wrench. Marked four electrical leads so I'd know where to replace them. Then repeated process in reverse to install new valve. Simply push water lines back into color coded valve outlets. Also replaced water filter and found that the GWF Filter is now the MWF fitler.

Water dispenser in door failed to dispense water
Unplugged refrigerator from electrical outlet for safety and turned off water supply valve. Removed the four metal screws that hold the access cover on the rear of the refrigerator. Then removed single metal screw attaching water valve and bracket assembly. Unplugged wire harness from the water valve and assembly then pressed down on colored o-rings to detach the four plastic water lines from the water valves. Used open end wrench to disconnect main water supply line from the water valve. Pressed down on colored O-rings to install the four plastic water lines to new water valve and bracket assembly. Wrapped plumbing tape on threads of inlet valve and and used open end wrench to attach main water supply line to new water valve and bracket assembly. Attached wiring harness to new water valve and bracket assembly. Mounted new assembly to refrigerator with single metal screw. Turned on water supply valve and checked for leaks. Plugged in refrigerator to electrical outlet and tested water dispenser. Replaced access cover on rear of refrigerator with four mounting screws.

Water inlet to icemaker freezes up.
Removed the back panel from the lower part of the fridge to expose the valves and motor. Then the one screw holding the valve/bracket assembly was removed to free the assy. It took a few minutes to figure out how to remove the water lines - popped the colored plastic rings out with a screwdriver and removed the lines. Inserted the lines one by one as they were removed to keep correct orientation. Removed the two electrical connections and plugged into new valve. Installed assy with the one screw. Replaced back panel.

Water dispenser on door not working, but ice maker makes ice.
The hard part of this repair is moving the refrigerator away from the wall and cleaning all the dirt from the fan, condenser and area. Removing the old water valve takes about 5 minutes. Be sure to shut off water completly at the wall. I removed ea. water line one at a time from old valve & installed in new valve at the same time, to keep in order. Very easy to remove electrical connectors, one at a time and clip to new valve in proper order. I put some teflon tape on the main water connection & reconnected water line to valve assembly. Moved valve assembly back into position and installed with one screw. Installed the back cover with 5 screws, moved the refrigerator back and checked for water. The water dispenser works better than new and so does the icemaker. Thanks to partsselect.com for the help.

Ice maker stopped producing ice
I determined that the icemaker was not getting any water to the unit. The icemaker was still cycling but was not filling with water. I assumed the water valve was malfunctioning so I looked up the schematic drawing on the site and ordered the Water Valve & Bracket Assembly. It arrived within days. It took less than 10 minutes to install with miniumal effort. Within minutes the water could be heard flowing into the unit. Within an hour we had ice again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Water valve was slowly leaking onto hardwood floor
I removed the one screw from the bracket that held the entire assembly in place. I then transferred the electrical connections and water lines one at a time from the old part to the new one so as not to mix them up. I reconnected the water line with the use of some plumbers tape. I turned the water supply back on to check for leaks. After not finding any, I placed the completed assembly back inside the refrigerator, screwed the bracket back into place, and I was done. Incredibly simple.

Leaking water control valve
Unplugged electrical and turned off water at source. Removed back cover of refrigerator. Removed one bracket screw holding water valve. Pulled element out six to nine inches and disconnected water line to the unit. Removed electrical and water lines from old valve. Marked each line for easy reassembly of new valve. Turned water back on and tested for leaks. The whole process was very easy. Service from PartSelect .com was very good.

Water valve leak
Pull fridge out and turned water supply off. Removed four screws to take shield off back of fridge. Unscrewed assembly part from fridge. Turned water on slightly to identify leak and identified leak in valve system. Shut water back off and ordered replacement part. When part came, removed water line from assembly; moved electrical and water hose connections from existing part to new part one by one to be sure t they were in correct place. (To remove water lines, push o ring toward the assembly and pull hose out. To put into new bracket, merely slide in and they will lock in place) Fasten water line on new part using teflon tape. Turn on water slowly to check for leaks. Attach back to fridge and replace shield. VERY EASY!!

Water was dripping from the rear of refrigerator.
I removed the nuts holding the cover to the back of the refrigerator. I removed the main water line to the part. I then removed the nut holding the old water and valve bracket assembly to the refrigerator. I removed the wiring harness from the old part and attached it to the new one. I pressed down on the release to the hoses, pulled them out, and reattached them to the new part. I reattached the part to the refrigerator. I reattached the main water line back to the part. I reattached the cover to the back of the fridge. I tested the icemaker and water dispenser--and everything worked fine. And, the best thing was, there was no puddle of water at my feet! Such an easy fix!

Leaky water valve
1) Shut off water supply 2) Pull out Refrigerator 3) Unplug 4) Unscrew back panel 5) Remove main water supply line 6) Remove bracket 7) Cut supply hoses 1 at a time and insert in new assembly in correponding openings 8) Reverse steps and enjoy
Notes: Judging by the new part's look, I suspect this repair will be needed again in about the same amount of time (5 years). The incoming pressure (I live in NYC) is probably too much for the way the part is built. Fortunately, now I know where to look , what to order and where to get it (great service, partselect.com!) it's no more then a 15 minute job.

Leaky water valve assembly
Turned off the water and unplugged the frig. Removed the assembly (the hard part as it was corrodided) by removing 4 screws and slipping the electrical connections off. The water lines slipped off easilyThe instructions were good and the part fit easily. Then reversed the process by connecting the electrical and water. I ordered the part via internet on Wed. evening and received it on Friday. Excellant service!

Water valve was leaking!
The defective solenoid assembly was removed from the refrigerator and the electrical connection was unplugged. The new assembly was placed beside the defective part so the wiring harness could be removed and installed on the new assembly. I had to use a flat screwdriver to loosen the connectors. The water connections were then carefully moved, one at a time, to the new valve. The water was then turned on to check for leaks. There were none so the assembly was installed in the refrigerator and the back cover was screwed into place.
The part was shipped on a Monday and I received it at noon the following Tuesday, using the least expensive shipping method!
