This ice bucket auger kit come with an auger and a blade. Please note: As per manufacture the part shown in the picture is no longer available. The updated helix coil is now approximately 5". If you currently have the original part you will need to order the complete auger/bucket assembly.
This part works with the following brands: GE, Hotpoint & Kenmore.
This part fixes the following symptoms:
the part is fairly easy to take apart, however pay close attention to how things fit and go together. It took me sometime to figure the reassembly out due to my lack of close attention to taking it apart. other than that it is simple.

I recommend taking a picture of any part before it is removed. Remove all screws. Use the diagram provided by this site for the dismantle of the ice bucket parts. I replaced the plate and ice auger. I found that my rusted screws for the plate would not fit the new plate, so I bought replacement screws at Home Depot. After I got all the blades off, I realized that I should have probably replaced a couple of them as well. Next time I decide to repair an item, I will totally inspect all parts before ordering. Order was shipped immediately. Postal Carrier showed me why he dropped off at another location which caused a delay of a couple of days. Not the senders problem. I had a hard time remembering just how the rod on the side was suppose to fit. I should have taken a picture. (laughing) I finally figured it out. My ice maker is as good as new. So happy I did this. My husband always says: " Just get a new refrigerator." I was raised to fix things until they just die. He was so impressed that I was able to follow the diagram and re-install the ice bucket. All is great. I will use this site again. They are a great company. I am sure I saved hundreds of dollars for a repairman who would have replaced the whole unit and not taken the time for the repair and replacement of parts. This was just "as easy as pie".
Removed screws that held crusher to metal plate, making note of how unit came apart. Replaced Ice bucket auger and front and rear helix. I had to also order bushing/nut that screws to end of auger as the threads on mine were stripped out . I used the parts view on PartSelect.com to help in reassembly of the ice crusher blades, without that view it would have been trial and error in their proper assembly as I had forgotten ( because from 1st parts reciept and second parts reciept being about a week) how they came out. After assembly, with no left over parts I might add, I installed unit in to freezer and it works like new. Thanks, Louie D.
Disassembled front door/cover (3 screws), then removed deflection door assy, (4 1/4" nuts), CArefully and methodically removed C Clip and grinder teeth...Be careful with this step to document/remeber how to re-assemble! Auger repleced then reverse steps...All in all, not too bad, but you can easily screw up the teeth re-assembly.
Took unit apart but did not take photos of how to put unit back together, so needless to say it took longer then it should have. My error. Ordering the part was very easy and within days the part arrived at my door. Should the need arise, I would order again from Part Select.com.
Ordered at PartSelect and received the auger and blade within days. Printed the parts diagram and proceeded to take the auger apart the time it took would have been much less but I seized the opportunity to do a deep cleaning of the old parts before replacing them....The part diagram was the key to simplicity and the fast shipping was awesome. Thanks I'll be back....
To solve problem of no ice or water in the door I replaced the inlet valve. This was very easy, took less than 30 minutes. 2nd problem was that the auger mechanism was worn and when it was producing ice, would not deliver thge ice to the door. I bought replacement auger kit. Replacement was pretty involved as you had to tear the unit totally down, even removing ice crusher blades as they also install on the auger shaft. All those blades go in a certain order and have spacers that have to go back as well. I struggled with it for over an hour before getting it back together. My advice, use your digital camera and photograph each step of the teardown so you have a guide for reassembly because you end up with a lot of pieces. I finally got it back together, I am now getting nice perfect ice cubes, I have full flow of water in the door, where it had become a needle thin stream, and I have ice in the door and it all works smoothly and I am totally happy with it and my wife thinks I am a hero!
It was just a matter of replacing the broken parts, and reassembling the ice machine. Nothing too difficult.
Removed front cover, removed rear cover careful to note position of spring assisted parts, used pliers to unscrew auger rod end cap, removed and soaked in Lime Away fixed and movable blades. Reassembled using diagram on website for guidance.
Before disassembling the parts need to replace, I use my digital camera to get all the different angle of the item so I have the full reference to asswmble the new one
Pay close attention to how you disassemble everything. You might even want to take a picture. I taped all the screws right where I unscrewed them, to make sure they were replaced in the right section. Also use the picture diagram that on the computer.
The disassembly and reassembly was straightforward but the parts diagram was very helpful to help you get it back together. Make sure you get the convexity of the clip that retains the clear plastic barrel to the auger pointing in the right direction. The metal plate that that comes out with the assembly seems to rust as fast as the auger, so you should just order that when you order the auger. I did not replace the plate so I cleaned it and painted it with epoxy paint before I reassembled.
