The Ice Deflector was broken
I looked at the YouTube Demo on how to replace the Ice Deflector. My model Refrigerator/Freezer was a little different than what the demo showed, but the method on how to fix it was the same. I wish I had known what was wrong in the beginning, so I would not have spent the money on a refrigerator technician coming to my home and charging me $60 to look at the problem and only $18 to have the part shipped to me. That is all it took. $18 and 30 minutes of my time to replace it..

Ice deflector broke again as ice froze and dispenser was taxed causing it to break
Watched an online video that I had seen before that helped immensely step by step, I fixed before and now just lowered freezer setting so ice bucket doesn’t get as full and freeze the deflector and jam deflector, causing it to break.

Icemaker wouldnt dispense ice
Took the tray out, removed three screws, popped the front tray out, installed the deflector, and put it back together. Done in less than 15 minutes and my wife is ecstatic that our dispenser works again.

Brittle plastic pieces crack and break.
Repair was simple; unscrew and unsnap the various pieces, and snap-and-screw it back to together. But what a disappointing design. Between replacing seized solenoids (twice) and plastic parts, this through-the-door dispenser "feature" is a maintenance money pit. Sure glad that PartSelect can provide the parts quickly.

Is this the part that would keep it from crushing the ice? All I can get is cubed.
For model number HSM25GFRFSA

Hello Royce, Thank you for the question. We suggest checking to make sure the Dispenser Crusher Cover is not damaged and in place. If the Cover and the bin have no damage, you may have a defective Ice Dispenser Solenoid Service Kit. Dispensing cubes requires a lever behind the ice bucket to open a flap and allow whole cubes to come out. If an ice cube gets behind the ice bucket, this can prevent the lever from working. Remove the ice bucket and check for ice that may have fallen behind the bucket. If there is no ice make there blocking it you can look at the opening where the brass colored rod enters. There is a solenoid inside that should actuate to move the bucket arm in order to dispense cubes. Stick your finger in there and see if you can get it to drop down. The solenoid may be damaged, or just frozen in place. If it drops down reinstall the bucket and with the freezer door open, actuate the door switch with your finger, while pressing the ice dispenser. The solenoid will snap up then fall back down when you release the lever if it is working properly. If it doesn't, then you will need to remove the housing it is in and see if it has frost build up, if so set the bin out at room temperature to let any frost build up melt. The solenoid shaft must move freely in order to work properly. After checking and removing any frost reinstall the bucket again and with the freezer door open, actuate the door switch again with your finger, while pressing the ice dispenser. If it is still not working properly then the solenoid will need to be replaced. Hope this helps!

Replaced broken auger in the icemaker. Also replaced broken ice deflector. Now dispensing both some crush and cubes together. I’m sure everything is installed correctly. Any suggestions?
For model number PZS22MMKBHES

Hi Chuck, thank you for reaching out. Make sure that all components, including the auger and ice deflector, are properly aligned and installed correctly. Even a small misalignment can cause issues with ice dispensing. If this does not solve the issue, we would recommend replacing the interface dispenser assembly, part number PS12172921, to fix the issue. Good luck with this repair!
