Comes with both cam risers. This hinge kit is suitable for the bottom of either the freezer door or the refrigerator door of some refrigerators.
This part works with the following brands: GE, Hotpoint & Kenmore.
This part fixes the following symptoms:
Laid a 3 1/2" block of wood about a foot long under door, pried up door level with other door and used a couple of wedges to hold door up. Used 1/4" sockets and ratchet to remove and reinstall hinge.

This door was a problem for 1-2 years before I realized it had dropped about 2 inches. On close examination I saw that the hinge parts had completely broke down.Had original manual-looked up model # on line under GE appliance and was surprised to find a large complete parts dwg showing parts I needed. Decided I needed the hinge assy.Removed the door cap on top, replaced hinge assy and remounted door in reverse.--Works like new.
First removed plastic cover off top hinge with phillips screwdriver. Used nut driver to loosened screws on upper hinge to 1/2 inch out and then used wood blocks to shim up door as high as possible while still in closed position. Used socket wrench to remove lower hinge and fitting from bottom of door, while still closed. Installed new lower hinge and door fitting with socket wrench. Lowererd door to sit on bottom hinge and then adjusted position of top hinge before tightened those screws with nut driver. Reinstalled plastic cover. Piece of cake!
Discovered the door cam was broken. Did a search, found the part on PartSelect.com. Read the repair stories and realized I need two cams. So I just bought the whole hinge assembly figuring it would be a little easier and did not cost that much more. Put blocks under the door, unbolted the old hinge from the refrig, and the old cam from the door. Replaced them with the new parts, and I was all set. Took about 15 to 20 minutes. Had my wife stand by the door just in case it fell, which I knew it wouldn't.
Removed the refrigerator door. Replaced the cam riser bushing on the bottom of the door. I then removed the hinge bracket on the bottom of the refrigerator after removing the grill (oh yuk, what a mess under the refrigerator). I put the new bracket on and replaced the door. All is working well again. Thanks for the hints and the parts.
Removed two screws from the top hinge, two from the bottom - replace and put back together. It took longer to remove the food from the door than it did to replace it. THANKS
parts ordered fit perfectly made repair removed items from shelves removed door avd replaced hinges and reassembled 1/2 hour total by myself
Took the stuff out of the doorRemoved the doorReplaced the hingePut the door back inPut the stuff back in the doorYou may be thinking that I'm not much for words - but this was SO EASY that it doesn't warrant using more words than I did.My 7-year-old son helped me - it was a fun father-son project.
Don't even need to empty the shelves in the door. Just prop the door up with a block of wood from the floor to the bottom of the door. Lay on the floor and replace the parts. The door was acting up for a long time. I wish I had researched and repaired the problem a long time ago. Now it works great!
Removed food and trays from door. This took longer than the actual repair. Removed top hinge cover (1 phillips screw) and top hinge (2ea 5/16" hex bolts). Removed door, replaced hinge assembly on refrigerator (2ea 5/16" hex bolts)which included a new hinge cam (they don't tell you this, but the cam is included in the assembly so you don't need to order a seperate cam) I now have a spare cam. Piece of cake...your mom could do it!!
Followed other messages to complete fix. Simple overall. Please note that if you buy the hinge assembly, you get spacer parts that mate. If you don't you have to hack-saw the rivot off the old hinge assembly to do your repair. Hinge assembly cost more but less work.
I read the details and bought the pair, as directed from other bloggers. I got the hinge piece, followed others advice and had it all done in not time! Saved a lot of money and will use this website again!
After reading other posted comments,I ordered a new hinge assembly set ps290199. My helper and I removed the door and laid it on the kitchen table. While he replaced the hinge on the refigator,I replaced the cam on the door bottom. We re-hung the door and completed the job in 15 minutes with the door closing like it did when new.
Same as the others, just propped the door up and took off the upper and lower hinge parts and replaced them. One note: the old hinge was so torn up that some of the shims were partially destroyed. Since I didn't order the shims, I had to do a little machining. It might be a good idea to order shims if there is ant doubt.P.S. With normal shipping, the order arrived in 2 days!
Lifted the door while closed into position even with freezer door. Then put srap pieces of wood under door to hold into place while I removed the old hinge assembly and replaced with the new one. The door works good now. Make sure you replace both peices as they will both be worn.
