This knob accepts a D-shaped shaft.
Slid off the old START knob, then pushed on the new START knob.I created and printed a label on my computer for use with the time selector dial, which must be set at or beyond 10 minutes, before turning the START knob.I made a label that says "Minimum" with a red arrow that points past the 10 minute setting on the time selector dial.My teenage daughter was not setting the time selector dial, to a point past 10 minutes. When she turned the START knob, the dryer would not come on, because the time selector dial was not set past the 10 minute setting. My daughter had continually twisted the START knob until it broke. I am hoping she will be able to see the large printed label I put on the dryer near the time selector, saying "Minimum" with a large red arrow pointing past 10 minutes.I am very pleased that I was quickly able to find the exact matching START knob for my dryer and the exact same color, from PartSelect.Com

Removed the damaged knob and replaced it with the new knob. Very ease
We live in a Condominium, space is tight especially in the Utility room where the washer/dryer are located. Turned dryer breaker off at the electical panel. Removed the top cover and front assembly w/door and front drum support, right where the unit was located. Had to gain rear access to loosen drum drive belt so undid the dryer vent hose to floor connection through a front acess hole. Moved the unit out to the breakfast nook as well as disconnecting the power cable from the wall socket. Removed the rear access panel covers and unhooked the drive belt. At the front removed the top screws off the lower cross member to allow spreading of the side covers to allow the removal of the drum. Removed drum and found the bearing bushing gone, reduced to powder.Using the supplied instuction sheet, replaced the rear bearing assembly, replaced the drum after vacumming the whole interior and started the reassembly of the unit using the new belt and moved the unit back into place. Reconnected the power cable and dryer vent then lastly replaced the lint filter and selector knob. Closed the breaker and turned on the machine, no noise!!!Incidently I am 78 years old. Thanks PartSelect.
I removed the back of the panel, unplugged the dryer, removed the two wire connections, removed the one screw that held the part in place, removed the old switch, put the new one in then followed the above procedure in reverse.
I removed 4 or 5 screws on the back of the compartment that holds the start switch. I removed 1 screw that held the start switch in & pulled off two wires that connected to the old start switch & connected them to the new start switch. I then put all of the screws back in and everything worked fine. Very easy repair.
One of the easiest repair jobs I've ever done. First I turned off the power. After removing 4 screws and lowering the cover of the control board, I disconnected the two wires attached to the switch. I rotated the switch counterclockwise and removed it. Just reverse this process and I was done. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes.
ordered part on line--received in mail 2 days later--just pushed on in 2 seconds--job donehow much easier can it get??????
Unplugged dryer. Removed screws from top of operating panel. Removed wires from switch. Turned switch 1/4 turn to left and removed. Replaced switch. Turned 1/4 to the right. Re-attached wires. Replaced operating panel and screws. Replaced knob. Plugged in dryer. DONE!!!!!!Easiest repair ever! Thank you.
Removed 6 screws from the back panel and lifted/pushed the metal back panel up. Removed/sliced out the start switch by hand. Replace the new start switch and tightened all screws. Replaced the new selector Knob and it worked like charm.
Just followed the installation video. The only issue with the video was that a phillips screwdriver was specified and I actually needed a torx screwdriver.
Both parts arrived quickly and were exactly what I ordered. The lint screen replacement part was of higher quality and it works better than the one that came with the dryer. Very satisfied.
After taking off:5 screws off the back2 in the front - Husky screws in the frontpanel clips - the top panel was opened.1 more screw for starter switchDONE - under 15 minutes.
First, let me thank the others who weighed-in on this repair - it was helpful. Since he likes helping dad, I actually had my 12-year-old son perform the timer replacement (with my supervision, of course). Start by unplugging the machine. Remove the timer control knob and be sure to salvage the little metal piece that slips over the control shaft. You will reuse this on the new timer. Next, remove the (4) Torx screws on the top of the control panel and tilt the panel forward. The old timer twists out counter-clockwise. Move the wires over to the new timer one at a time then put everything back together. Presto, the dryer shuts off like it should! Very satisfying little father/son repair.
replace both,in less than 5 minutes.save 80dollars in labor
First of all I am NOT a do-it-yourself handyman. I unscrewed the panel where the start knob was diagnosed I needed an electrical switch that went behind the panel and a new start knob. PartSelect was great. just plugged in my model number, found the drawings of the model. I selected and ordered both parts for $40. Shipped normal delivery and they arrived in 5 days. I had the parts replaced, the panel screwed back on and the dryer working in 10 minutes. I highly recommend PartSelect for honesty, speed and helpful drawings that allow you to select the correct part. 110% satisfied.
