gas igniter: broken
Unplugged dryer, disconnected gas from igniter sleeve and removed sleeve (AFTER you unplug all wires). Replace the igniter "very carefully". It is as fragile as bare pencil lead. Replace the igniter sleeve. Beats the snot out of buying a new dryer. Thank you for having the parts.

(Gas) dryer wouldn't heat.
Found and ordered igniter on Tuesday. Part arrived on Friday. Took about 5 minutes to remove old igniter and install new one. Took about 5 minutes. Dryer works like new again. Hopefully it will last for another 16 years!

My Daughter did it for me .

Unplug the dryer, turn off the gas. Opened the lower front door panel. She disconnected the gas pipe from the igniter assembly. Then She removed the two screws holding the assmb. Then she removed the wire from the front of the assmb. and the white and black wire from the back of the unit. remove the old igniter put in the new one put it back together.

No drying. No gas flame.
Unplugged the power cord, turned off the gas. Then I closed the gas valve feeding the gas igniter assembly. I disconnected the gas pipe from the gas igniter assmb. Then I removed the two screws holding the assmb. on to the front of dryer. From this point the assmb. can be lifted off a supporting bracket. Three cables must be removed in order to remove the assmb. from the dryer. The gas igniter measured very high resistance and actually fell apart. Reassemble in the opposite order as above. Parts diagrams on Partselect.com were invaluable.

Dryer worked, but there was no heat to dry the load.
Removed from lower panel. Just popped it open
with a screw driver.
Unplugged dryer and shut off gas by the gas shut-off valve.
Loacated the gas igniter element and removed it
by pulling up. It is only healed in place by a metel
like a clothes pin.
Using caution slid new unit down and into the pinching device.
Plugged in power cord and the gas.
Turned the unit on and it worked !!!
This was worth the try. Better than buying a new
dryer with the economy the way it is now.

1. remove the access door , bottom left side
2. unplug the power cord and shut the gas valve off, next to the union fitting
3. unplug the electrical connections from the gas valves and igniter.
4. open the union with the wrench, right hand thread
5. remove the two nut driver screws on the burner lip

Gas dryer heat would not come on
Unplugged dryer, opened lower panel. Loosened the bolt that holds igniter assembly to gas unit and removed old igniter. Put new igniter in the pinch clamp then (being VERY careful so as not to crack new part) replaced igniter assembly and tightened its bolt firmly. Voilà, ignition!
