Gasket Insert

Shut the power off. Removed 7 screws off from the back of the front door. Lifted the panel carefully from the door and rested on the front panel. Removed the old door gasket and Gasket insert and cleaned the area.
Soaked the new door Gasket in warm water for few minute before use.
Inserted the door Gasket starting from the top in the groves and pressed it down. It was little difficult to see at the back to insert the Gasket insert. Used small pocket mirror to insert the Gasket in place. Put back all the screws. Worked out good. No more leak.

I had replaced the door gasket a few years earlier and had difficulty fitting the gasket around the bottom corners. This time I removed the plastic inner door panel for complete access to the gasket channel. I opened the new gasket package and let it stand unrolled overnight to remove the kinks. Once the old gasket was removed I took a thin piece of wood wrapped with a cloth to clean out the gasket track. The gasket snaps in easily. Be careful not to over stretch the gasket around the bottom corners. The curve of the gasket will resemble the curve of the door panel when set correctly. This is where I had trouble earlier when I tried to set the gasket in the channel with the door panel still attached. It is much easier to do this with the door panel removed.

Pulled out the old seals paying particular attention to their orientation. Cleaned the mounting areas and installed the new seals by hand.

This unit is more than 20 years old and is working just fine. Part Select made it easy to find what I needed and the parts arrived in two days.

The small 4" gasket was missing from the machine, and the large gasket was bent and out of place. I ordered the small gasket and installed it into the groove, placing the end flaps behind the large gasket. The large gasket was questionable, but I did not replace it. It seemed OK after I snapped it back into the door groove. Once the gaskets were properly aligned, I carefully replaced the inside door panel and screws. No more leak!

Since i was not sure which gasket has failed, i replaced all 4 considering the age of the dishwasher,( 2 are corner baffles ). The only time i was scratching my head was installing the gasket insert. No one mentioned to overlap or not, so i did overlap and crossed my fingers. After several cycles there is no dripping so i guess overlapping about a 1/2 inch is the way to do it. And i would suggest cleaning the gasket groove in the bottom corners really good. Good luck, bill

Remove old left and right corner tub baffles, make certain area where the new baffles are to be inserted is clean and free of any debris. Gently press new baffles in to each corner. Remove old gasket insert and replace with new. Tell wife the job was a three hour ordeal that require advanced skills to complete!

Took inner door panel off and cleaned and replaced gasket.

The lower right and left tub baffles just slip in, no tools required. For the front door gasket; a) removed the backside of the front door by removing the door screws. You need to manipulate the front door latch to remove the panel. b) remove the existing gasket, replace with new gasket. The short 4" gasket was missing, which is why it was leaking in the first place. Replaced it with the new one. Reassembled and tested. On the GE Pot Scrubber 1120 model you do not even need tools to replace the parts that we replaced. We just pulled the corner baffles out and cleaned the corners before placing the new baffles in. For the door gasket, we just pulled the old gasket out and put the new one in the track that the old one came out of. We didn't have to take any door screws out to replace the gasket at all. It was very easy to do and no more leaks. You will have to push against the door to get it closed tightly the first time you use it since the new gasket has not been flattened by use. I ordered the gasket insert and used it since we had it but for this model we didn't really need it. I would suggest not ordering one for this model.

Removed seven screws that held the inside panel to door. removed inside panel to work area and cleaned. After carefully observing the position of the old gasket, it was easily removed and the new one but in its place. Replaced the door being careful toalign the handle before tightly securing all seven screws. Repair worked, no more leak.

Your site is great! Saved me a service call for a repairman to come out and tell me what was wrong, order parts and then come back. Total repair was less than $90 including parts and shipping. It arrived in two days from when I ordered it. I ordered the replacement door gasket, the gasket insert and a new checkvalve. This was a super easy fix and I am a girl too boot! I am proud of myself!

I used a phillips screwdriver to take off about 8 screws off the white inner door fascia in order to replace the door seal. Keep this panel upright and do not lay it down since the rinse agent will leak out all over! Found out that the hard way.

Removed the old, dried out, outer door gasket, centered the notch that was on the new gasket at the top of the door and installed it all the way around in the door gasket groove. Installed the gasket insert at the bottom where the door gasket comes together on the bottom of the door.

After that was completed I used a 1/4" nutdriver to remove the 4 hex screws at the back of the dishwasher for the cover that is over the check valve. It is white and has a very fine mesh screen.. so easy to identify.

The old check valve was filled with crud and and the rubber was deteriorated. I just backed the old one out counterclockwise and put in the new one, a little better than finger tight. Replaced the cover and the hex screws with the 1/4" nutdriver.

Reinstalled the white inner door panel, insure the door handle comes through the hole in the front prior to attaching your screws back in place. Closed the dishwasher. Ran it on rinse/hold cycle to make sure no leaks before going for a full wash. Works great and drains now too.

I examined the door gasket and found it to be worn. So I ordered the new parts and installed. The replacement went easily. There were other persons comments which said center handle on re-installing door inner which was very helpful. After replacing parts I did a test run and no leak...thinjking the problem was solved I went downstairs to double check and saw water dripping. I removed the botton facet of the dishwasher and checked underneath and found a small hose leaking. I ordered and replaced trying to do without removing the dishwasher ..well don't try to cut corners remove it as replacing without doing so is a pain and wasted time so I learned a lot from this experience. I found the comments of others fixes VERY helpful.

First I must say that several appliance service companies told me it would be cheaper to buy new versus repair. Average quote was for $100 as a service call to check it out. I removed the front door coverge and determined it was the controller. Cheched with an Ohmeter ($9.00 unit) for shorts and found none. The new controller was installed together with the other parts and I now have a unit like new that would have cost $1,400.00 to replace. The schematics and parts diagram were invaluable. You also saved about $50.00 over the GE website. Thanks.

Simply opened the dishwasher door, removed the gasket insert located in the middle inside of the door and replaced with new. Also went ahead and replaced the seal on the inner edge of the inside dishwasher door. Found very simple instructions on Google on how to do make this repair. Very easy!
