The bake element is located on the bottom of the oven. If your oven will not heat properly it may be due to a faulty or damaged baking element. If the element is not heating evenly, or if it is not heating at all, it will need to be replaced. This element is 19 inches wide x 19 inches long, and has male spade push on terminals.

Sorry, we couldn't find any existing installation instruction that matched.
When I took out the baking element, the wires went up inside because they were so short, I got a hold of one of them but couldn't get a hold of the other.
Had to pull out the refrigerator and put it in the dining room in order to pull out the stove to be able to get to the back of it. Had to take off the back of the stove to get to the wiring for the baking element, so at that point I replaced the broil element at the same time. Not a easy job at all.

The lower,BAKE, element had burned in half almost causing a fire.
Slide the rang out to access the 240V plug & unplugging it. Removed the sheetmetal cover from the rear of the range to access the slip on wire plugs to prevent damaging the insulation. The insulation would be damaged if pulling them through the opening in the oven wall with the plugs attached to the element. Removed the racks from the oven. Unscrewed the retaining screws holding the element to the rear wall of the oven, lifted damaged element out and reversed the process for instillation. Perfect opportunity to clean underneath and behind the range.

The bottome heater element of my oven burned out.
I used pliers to remove the hex bolts from the old burner element and pulled out the terminals by hand. I ordered my part and was slightly concerned because the part number was different (this due to my oven being so old I guess). After reading another repair story on this site, when I got my new part, I turned off the electricity to the range at the fuse box vs. unplugging the oven from the wall - because if I had pulled out the oven to access the plug, I would have had to re-caulk along the edges where it connects with my counter tops. I then slid the terminals into the female parts; this was a bit tricky because the female parts had receded behind the insulation in the hole in the back of the oven where they are located. I used small needle-nosed pliers to grab them and pull them forward enough to slide the new terminals in (by hand). I then put in the old hex bolts and used the pliers to tighten them. Flipped the fuse box switch and tried it out - worked great!

Heating element burned out. How do i replace?
For model number rb75w c4ww
PartSelect logo
Hello REnee and thanks for writing. urn off breaker to the oven. Unplug the oven’s plug from the electrical outlet. Open the oven and remove the racks so you can access the back of the oven. Locate the terminals that hold the bad element to the back of the oven. Carefully slightly lift the element and pull towards you . element in place in different areas so check Carefully slide the element out about 4 to 5 inches. Take the old element completely out of the oven. Put the new element into the oven and secure the prongs to the 2 electrical connectors the same way by gently pushing them in Slide the element back into the opening where it secures to the oven back wall. Plug in your oven and turn the ovens electrical breaker to “ON”. Test the oven by putting it on bake mode and check to be sure it is heating properly. The baking element may smoke a little as the manufacturer adds some protective coating to it. Don’t worry as this is normal and the coating will burn off within a few minutes. If test is successful, you have installed the element correctly. Job well done! We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime.

Baking element is sparking when the oven is turned on. Does this mean the element is bad or is there another problem?
For model number RB526H3WW
PartSelect logo
Hi Ryan, Thank you for your question. Overtime, the heat produced degrades the insulation in the element and once it wears out the element will start to spark and burn out and it will need to be replaced. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Will i be able to return this baking element if it don't work or fit? This is a Hotpoint stove
For model number RB75BH1WH
PartSelect logo
Hello George, thank you for your question. Unfortunately, if the part is used or shows signs of installation we are unable to accept it back for resale. Per the model information the bake element PartSelect Number: PS249238 is the correct replacement. If the broil element works, and all other functions on the stove work, except this element that is the most likely issue and will fix the problem when installed. I hope this helps.
