The drip pans were unusable due to excessive use, and I decided to replace the surface elements as well.
There was nothing to it...I unplugged the Sufrace Elements from thier bases, removed the Drip Bowls, replaced the Drip Bowls and then plugged the Surface Elements back in to thier bases. The entire process could not have taken more than two minutes.

I needed new drip pans
I lifted out the burners and took out the old drip pans ans then replaced the burners. However the 8 inch pans were bigger than the old ones and they do not fit properly. They are sitting on top of the stove and not inserted like they should be. I will have to look elsewhere to find ones that fit.

Baking element shorted out and burnt
I loosened two screws that held the baking element to the stove and pulled out. Then, with a screwdriver , I took the old wires off and replaced them onto the new Baking Element and reassembled.
It was a very easy task and while I was at it,I replaced the Drip Bowl pans on the top of the stove with Chrome ones.
I ordered the parts on a Tuesday and, to my surprise, I received them on Thursday, and the cost was about half of what it would have cost me elsewhere (to include GE Parts Warehouse)
I highly recommend partselect to all of you that need inexpensive repairs.

The original drip pans had rusted and needed replacement.
We tried to find the replacement pans at the local hardware store and were disappointed in that although they were cheaper, they were not deep enough to handle the heating elements. We were delighted to find that the parts from PartSelect.Com were genuine GE parts... installed in minutes and were delivered VERY quickly!

The drip bowls were a mess- rusty and beyond cleaning
I removed the old drip pans, cleaned the range top, washed and installed the new drip pans and put the old pans, box and packing materials in the trash. In only 12 minutes my range top looked like new and the mess was picked up. Now, if I could just get the rest of the kitchen looking that good that fast!

No power to element/no heat
removed burnt out terminal block, installed new- I soldered wires instead of using wire nuts, took a little extra time, but I feel it's a better connection. I later found that my rotary control must have burnt out too, I swapped it with one from another burner. I'll be ordering a couple rotary controls next from this company. All parts were nice quality. Received quickly.
