I am trying to replace turntable motor for this microwave/oven combo. To reach into it, i need to take out microwave trim assembly. I took out screw of trim i-brow but the trim assembly still can't come out. Looks like there is a bracket (28) support trim that holds the trim assembly. I think if i can take out the trim assembly then i can reach out to the turntable motor. How to remove the trim assembly?
For model number JTP90SM2SS
Hi Bob,
Thank you for your inquiry. Before you begin any repair please unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet or turn the circuit breaker off. To gain access to the turntable motor you will need drop the bottom panel down. There are several mounting screws along the bottom of the microwave that you will have to remove. With the screws removed lower the bottom panel and you will have access to the turntable motor. Remove the wires from the turntable motor. Take a Torx bit and remove the turntable motor. Remove the spacer from the old motor so you can put it on the new motor. Properly seat the new motor into position and secure it with the screws. Reattach the wires and secure the lower panel with the screws. Restore power to the microwave and it should be ready for use. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
