replaced turn table motor
Removed 8 screws from bottom of microwave which allowed access to Drive Motor part. Removed 2 screws and detached part and replaced with new part. Replaced bottom screws and turntable is now running like new. Real easy, only took about 14 minutes. For safety reasons,be sure to unplug microwave first.
undid the 7 screws underneath the MW bottom, then undid 2 more screws and pulled out the motor by disconnecting it from the wiring. Had shut of the electricity.I knew how to do this from others stories! They were correct.A service visit would have been a minimum of $79.00!! Then I would have had to buy the part and pay for the install. One guy threw a figure to me of $250.00!!!!Thanks to all the prior comments; and, to PartSelect.com for the quick shipment and correct part.I saved a lot of money, got the part in a timely matter, and, the correct part.A 5 Star Rating from me.
Pulled plug of microwaveRemoved bottom panel by removing 6 retaining screws.Pulled the plug from turntable motor.Removed 2 screws to take out motor.Motor slid out easilyReplaced motor by reversing the above sequence.
Removed one screw to remove the small cover on the bottom of oven and removed the motor by removing the two screws and disconnected the plug. Used reverse procedure to install new motor. Took about five minutes! The motor you sent was a better motor, has a steel shaft instead of plastic.
Removed underside panel, about 8 screws, then removed the motor, 2 screws. Unplugged the connection to the motor. Ordered part online within 5 minutes. Part arrived 3 days later. While I cooked dinner that night and with my kids "help", I installed the new motor and replaced the panel. It was a fun repair to make and I expect that I saved $50-$100 over having GE service come out to make the repair.
