Dryer timer operation was restricted causing multiple broken (plastic) knobs.
Turned off the electrical breaker to the dryer. Removed the three screws holding the control panel. Removed the old knob. Tilted the control panel forward to expose the wiring and controls. Removed the screw holding the old timer and loosened the timer - leaving the wires hooked up. Then I removed one wire at a time and reconnected to the corresponding terminal on the new timer until all of the wires were connected to the new timer. Replaced the timer and re-assembled the control panel on the dryer - turned the electric breaker back on.

Frozen timer
1. Remove three screws from back of dryer 2. Tilt top panel forward and disengage 3. Swapped wiring one by one from old timer to new timer 4. Reinstall
The new timer worked so well that even the old, broken knobs could turn it. But I replaced the knobs anyway.
Customer service was great in helping me verify that this timer would work on this dryer (my model number was not listed on the website).

Timer would not turn - broke knobs
The hardest part of this repair was determining which parts to buy. The PartSelect website did not list this particular model dryer. But the GE site did. I confirmed that the G2WW and the G3WW models used the same parts on the GE site and then purchased them at the PartSelect site. I saved almost 20% and the parts arrived the next day. The actual repair job was easier than I thought. Replace wire for wire, take the old timer off and snap the new one in place. Works perfectly.

Timer bound up, causing the knob to break.
Disassembled back splash to inspect timer. Ordered parts (at a 50% discount from brick and mortar stores). Parts delivered in two days. Installed new timer and had everything back together in 10 minutes. No-brainer!

Inside assembly on knob broke
Could not turn dryer selection without a pliers. Metal assembly inside knob broke. Easy enough to find knob on website, though the machine was so old the model numbers had changed. Popped off old knob, put new one on; done. Received knob in mail within a couple of days of ordering online. Excellent service. Thank you.

The timer dial had cracked, and needed to be replaced
We had been using a pliers to turn the timer dial for way too long. We finally went online to find the replacement dial. Ordered it, received it in 2-3 days, opened the plastic bag, and voila! put it on and now get to use the dryer the way it was intended!!

Could not adjust timer/switch
I had immediately assumed the problem was the timer/switch, P/N WE4M365 and foolishly ordered that part. Should you ever encounter non-adjustment of the timer/switch, try another knob from the console. That was the only problem here as it turns out. Also, the knob DOES come with the "D" shaped insert clip.
