The rack slide end cap is the part that attaches to the rails of your upper dish rack and prevents the dishrack from sliding too far. If you find the dish rack is causing the door to not close properly, it may be due to the part being worn-out or damaged and in need of being replaced. All you will require is a small flat blade screw driver for this easy repair. You simply pop out the cap and snap the new one into place. If the rear cap needs to be replaced you will need to remove both front caps and slide the rack completely off for full access.
This part works with the following brands: GE, Hotpoint & Kenmore.
This part fixes the following symptoms:
Removing the slide end caps was a little tricky. Key was to tilt and twist the end cap and slide out. Putting them back in was equally as tricky, but reversing the process helped. Sliding the new track in place was simple. Total repair took about 6 or 7 minutes.. Part was ordered on a Monday morning and delivered the following day using standard shipping. Outstanding service.

I had a slow drip under the dish washer that originated from the solenoid shaft. The replacement o ring fixed it up. While I had it pulled out I replaced all the door seals and top rack rollers.I ordered the parts on a Thursday evening and received them on Friday. WOW now that's fast! The parts came from Illinois and I live in Indiana so that might have helped but I was very surprised and glad for the quick service. I would defiantly order from Parts Select again. Thank you!
did it by hand, carefully flair out the plastic piece only enough to slide it into the metal rail.
Removed two upper rack rail end cap stops. Removed upper rack. Replaced four old upper rack rollers (wheels) and installed four new upper rack rollers. Replaced upper rack in correct position. Installed two new upper rack rail end cap stops. The new end caps were different from the old ones, and the new wheels had shorter retaining arms than the old ones. Once observing the differences, the new parts fit properly and perfectly.
Watched the video and swapped out the parts when they came. One of the arms that one of the rollers attached to was rusted and swollen had to remove the plastic coating and sand in order to get a good roller fit. Went super easy
This repair was a snap. The parts, though not identical to the original, fit perfectly. I was able to snap both the Rack Slide Cap and the new wheel axle to the existing washer cage and the machine works great now. Thanks for the quick delivery and great website!
removed the end caps and took the rack out of the dish washer.found right front rack roller bad and replaced.slide rack back into dishwasher and replace end caps.
One of the rack slide end caps broke so only one end cap kept the rack from falling out. The video guide worked for me to remove the remaining end cap allowing the rack to come out. I then replaced the middle arm conduit carrier as it no longer had a tight fit. I then replaced the middle spray arm bearing and reinstalled the rack and the rack slide end caps using the video supplied online by this site . Ran dishwasher and verified middle spray arm was turning.
I installed new rollers and rack clips. The old ones had cracked and would not keep the rack in the tracks. I went to buy a new dishwasher which would have cost around $500. I bought $60 worth of parts although I probably could have just bought the clips for $15 and now the dishwasher is good to go! A real money saver.
placed the end cap into location and forced it into place. Fixed -and we are all much happier!!
I just had to play around with it to attach the new cap without breaking it.....never did this before but eureka! it worked.
The top right rail, facing the dishwasher, has a self lock tab. Using pliers, straighten the lock tab, insert the cap and then restore the lock tab to it's original position.
I was really suprised at how fast the parts arrived. We used some pliers to open the slide to remove the one end cap still in place. Took what was left of the old roller off and snapped the new ones on slide the rack back into place and replaced the end caps. This was really easy. took no time at all.
No tools needed for this half-minute repair. Just bend the flexible plastic tab on the back of the end cap until it slips into the metal rail and the end cap snaps into place. Couldn't be easier or simpler!
My wife grabbed the upper rack as she fell backwards across the front of the open dishwasher. It broke her fall - she is fine thank goodness - but the roller slides broke and the rail was destroyed. The dishwasher repair was easy - just had to put new parts in place. The detail parts explosion helps in determining how all physically goes together. Everything works as good as new. I used the pliers to remove one of the old wheel axles that was attached to the basket.
