Old element broke
Removed two Philips screws in the back, disconnected the wire clips, cleaned the oven bottom, connected the wires to the mew element, fastened the new element with the screws and cleaned up. Very easy.

I burned out my element
All I had to do was, unscrew two screws. Carefully pull the broken element out, disconnect. Push carefully back in. And replace screws and Walla!

Bake element not heating, broke into two pieces
Turned off breaker, moved unit and unplugged the unit. Safety first! Removed the oven door, removed two Phillips screws, pulled out the heating element, removed two clips.
Installed new element in reverse order. Put back the door. Plugged in unit, moved back into place and turned on breaker. Tested the oven, and it worked

Bake element broke
All I did was to unscrew the screws, pull out element, pull off the clips, discard the old element, attach the new one, put it back in the hole, and reattach the screws. Very easy to do!!!! Saved me a lot of money, didn’t have to call a service person!!!!!!

Removed two screws, removed broken heating element, plugged in new element and put two screws back.

bake element burned out
open oven door remove racks then went to the element back where it goes in removed two philip head screws pull out the element replace done...
bake element broke in two after pizza cheese dripped on it.
Needed to remove 2 screws to release bake element from back of oven. Pulled off connectors from element. Inserted new element, attached connectors and screwed the back plate into place onto back of oven. DONE ! !

seal leaking,oven would not heat
Simple R/R of oven element was easy. Washing machine was a complete teardown to the shaft to replace seal. Outer shell, tubs, motor and pump were removed. Was great to have exploded view of parts when it was time to reinstall. Parts were correct and fit perfect. Picture was not correct for the element but part was a match. Outstanding

I'm looking to replace the bottom element in my oven. The one I found on here does not look the same as the one that needs to be replaced

Hello Mandy, Thank you for contacting us. I have researched the model you have provided and have found the part you are looking for is PartSelect Number: PS11744520. Maytag has discontinued the original and replaced it with this element. They have advised it will still work the same as the original element. Hope this helps!

Sometimes the problem could be caused by pieces of tin foil or food particles stuck down inside the element. We would recommend checking the bake element, part number PS11744520, to fix the issue.
