Detergent and Rinse Dispenser with Cap

First I removed the (8) screws holding the front door panel on. Then I took the door panel off and unpluged the ribbon wiring so the door was free from the dishwasher. I then unpluded the wiring going to the dispensor. Then I removed the (6) screws holding the dispensor into place and then sprung the holders (2) so the dispendor could be removed. I stuck the new dispensor in its place, pushed it in so the (2) metal holders locked into place, then replaced the (6) screws, pluged the wiring into the new dospensor, pluged the ribbion wiring back in and replaced the front door panel and reinstalled the (8) screws that hold the front door into place. And then tested and everything worked fine.

I removed the 10 screws that hold the front door panel on and then I removed the 6 screws that hold the dispenser in place, pried slightly on the 2 clamps that hold the dispenser in place, unplugged the wire to it and pulled it out.
Put the new one in and reversed the steps. Presto done!

I removed the front of the dishwasher. Then removed the old dispenser assembly, and installed the new one. I don't have as many tools as I need here in our winter residence, so the job took a few more minutes than it would if I'd have had the correct tools.

NEEDED TO REPLACE WHOLE SOAP DISPENSER UNIT. HAD TO TAKE FRONT DOOR APART CAUSE THE HEX SCREWS ARE ON THE INSIDE. (10 SCREWS) THEN DOORS FALLS OFF ONTO FLOOR IF NOT CAREFUL. SPRING LOADED INNER DOOR WANTS TO GO UP AND OUTSIDE DOOR WANTS TO FALL OFF PULLING ON WIRING. UNPLUG WIRING TO SOLINOID,(PLUG HAS LOCKING RELEASE LEVER THAT NEEDS TO BE PULLED ON) REMOVE 6 HEX SCREWS, AND DISPENSER COMES OUT. INSTALL NEW UNIT WITH 6 SCREWS, PLUG IN, AND GET HELP HOLDING DOOR PARTS TOGETHER WHILE INSTALLING THE 10 SCREWS. YOU ARE NOW FINISHED. PROS ARE YOU GET THE COMPLETE UNIT, AND NOT A BUNCH OF PARTS. CONS ARE NO DIAGRAMS OR INSTRUCTIONS/NO NEW 6 HEX HEAD SCREWS-REUSE OLD ONES......DO NOT USE SOAP POWDER/CAUSES DAMAGE TO LATCH PARTS/USE ONLY LIQUID SOAPS...

The repair was easy, no instructions with the part. I had a bad leak the first go round, found out that I did not have it centered with-in the indentation on the door panel, so I got to install it twice.

The repair went okay. The problem was that the dishwasher would not run after the installation of the dispenser. The door was taken apart 2-3 times. I told my husband (the repair man) that we should pull out the dishwasher so I could clean behind it. I asked him 4 or 5 times to pull out the dishwasrer. Never an answer. Mind you he is an electrician by trade now retired. For some reason while I was not looking he did pull the unit out after 2 hours of fussing with this electrical problem. Remember he is an electrican by trade. When he pulled the unit out "THE PLUG WAS OUT OF THE SOCKET". How funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I could not stop laughing. I had to answer the phone at that time and my friend thought I was out of breath from running for the phone. I told her later it was from the PLUG OUT OF SOCKET TRICK. I still am laughing. The first thing an repair mann will ask you is if the unit is pluged in. I have two sons and one son-in-law that are electricans and will have many years of fun telling this story. It is good to laugh. I will be laughing for a long time.
