Cancel button would not work on the front flat panel
I replaced the control circuit boards first assuming that the problem would be in the circuit rather than the flat panel, but it ended up being the flat panel. In the future, do not replace the circuit boards unless they are smoked. Very easy to get the flat panel off except for the 2 screws at the front bottom of the panel. Maytag assumes you would remove the whole assembly, but it is easier to use a stubby screwdriver, just be careful that you do not drop a screw into the gap and down into the frame.
