Ice maker not working
Easy plug and play repair for anyone. Sourced the part and watched the video instruction on the website. The video was spot on, the old part was removed and replaced with the new part. The video explained in detail the step by step instructions plus added what tools were required. Very simple fix and the part arrived a day early! Very satisified with the service and easy repair instructions. With a 1 being the easiest and 10 being difficult this would have a rating of 2.

Icemaker not making ice
3 Years ago our icemaker stopped working and we paid a professional $225.00 to come and repair. This time I chose to investigate the problem on line and PartSelect website gave me info on the motor assembly that may be the problem. Sure enough I purchased the part, it was delivered in two days. My husband installed the control & motor assembly in less than 15 minutes. We had ice within hours. Thanks for saving us a service call and the expense. The Goldbergs

Ice was not being spit out of maker
My husband is a plumber...but did not have time to make the repair. So I took it upon myself!
Super Easy!
1. Unplugged Fridge 2. Unscrewed the 3 screws on motor 3. Pulled out old motor 3. Had to pour some hot water to melt ice cubes that were currently in the shoot. (because the new part would not line up correctly because of the frozen cubes inside the maker). Then soaked up all the water with towels. 4. Inserted the new motor 5. Put 3 screws back in.
ICE, ICE BABY! Within a couple hours it was dropping ice into the bucket! Husband came home, and I told him I fixed the ice maker (his expression was of dread)...and then he checked it out and all was perfect! So proud!

Ice maker stopped producing ice.
I ordered the part and just 1 1/2 days later, it arrived! Awesome!
I took the cover off the ice maker motor. Then I simply unscrewed the three screws holding the motor in place (be VERY careful - the hinge mechanism that holds the ice maker on/off bar needs to be gently removed from the motor so the prongs do not break).
Once the motor and ice maker hinge were removed, I simply pushed the new motor on, screwed all three screws back in, put the cover back over the motor, pushed the bar to 'on' and water flowed and ice was made! I turned it to Max so I would have lots of ice in a short amount of time then returned the switch to Normal and I've not had a problem since.

Ice maker wouldn't work
It took both me and my wife! One of the new parts we recieved was broke so we took the part off of the one that didn't work.
Unplug the fridge. Used the screw driver to remove the motor. Easy. Now putting the new one in was difficult because it has to line up exactly. Thats what took 15 minutes but after me and my wife worked on it, we had a bucket of ice by morning! We only knew how to do what we did because of reading these messages on this site. It came with no directions.

Icemaker ceased operation
Removed icemaker by first removing the nutscrew that holds the cover to the electrical connection in place. Next, I removed the door then slid the icemaker out and diconnected the electrical connector. With the icemaker out, I R&R'ed the motor assy , reconnected the electrical, and slid the icemaker back in place. Next, I replaced the door, turned the icemaker switch on and waited. In about 30 minutes I heard the water being injected into the icemaker, and soon there was ice. The repair was easy and inexpensive. Tx to Partselect which I found on Google.
