This part works with the following brands: Whirlpool, Admiral, Estate, Inglis, Kenmore, KitchenAid, Roper, Maytag, Crosley, Jenn-Air, Hardwick, Magic Chef, Amana, Caloric & Glenwood.
This part fixes the following symptoms:
First I turned off thecircuit breaker for the dishwasher at the circuit box. I removed the inside of the door panel by unscrewing about ten screws. (need a special bit). Then I unhooked two sets of wires. They just pulled apart with the plastic nodes. I took out a couple of more screws to remove the touch panel. I opened the black box on the outer door panel and fed the electronic strip from the new touch panel into the same slot as the old one. Very easy. Then I reconnected the wires and put the panel back on. I had been given an estimate that it would cost me more than $300 to repair the dishwasher, more than $100 for the touch panel and another $100 or so for a new door panel, plus more than $100 for the labor. I got the touch panel for about $60, did not need a new door panel, and did the repairs myself.

The control panel is pretty simple to replace. Take the inside of the dishwasher off by unscrewing the 11 star type screws. Unplug a couple of wire plug connectors to completely remove the inside of the dishwasher door. Take the three screws out for the plastic control board holder. Unconnect the ribbon cable for the control panel. Becareful, the connector slides on the top to allow the ribbon connector to be disconnect. Unscrew and now remove the control. Reverse the instructions to install the new control panel.
Took the new part and ran silicone around the opening for the ribbon cable to prevent steam from entering shock I believe causes this unit to constantly fail. Install the part. Then ran another bead of silicone around the touch pad to prevent water from entering. Hope this stops this unit from failing
If your model is the same as this one and it stopped working, 98% chance It's the control panel. Remove inner panel of the door. Unscrew the one screw on the control board box to get access to disconnect ribbon wire. Remove four screws two on each side of back of control panel. Install reverse of removal. Done!
