Loud grinding noise when dishwasher was draining
1. Print out the "pump and motor" exploded diagram and label the numbered parts down to #11 (discharge housing assembly).
2. Unscrew the "lower spray arm cap" (#34) by hand (it just twists off), remove the "jump up nozzle" (#1), and lift the "lower spray arm" (#2) and filter guard" (#36) out together.
3. With a torx screw driver, remove the screws holding the "pump cover and secondary filter assembly" (#4), taking note how the assembly was positioned. Be careful not to lose the two plastic "lower spray arm seals".
4. Lift out the "pump housing filter" (#6) and "rinse arm assembly" (#7).
5. With a 5/16 wrench, remove the bolts holding the "discharge housing assembly" (#11). You will likely find a plastic disk just sitting there under the discharge housing assembly. This is the source of your problem. It is the lower plate that has worn loose from the rest of the assembly and the noise is from it being ground by the impeller below.
6. The simplest fix is to order a new "discharge housing assembly" along with gaskets #37 - O-ring (for "pump cover in step #3. Mine was missing.) and #38 - "upper discharge housing gasket. Three parts to order and save your exploded diagram for when you put it back together.
7. Remove the "discharge housing nut" at the top of the old discharge assembly, lift off the "wash arm support", and put both on the new discharge assembly.
8. Insert new seals where they belong and reassemble the dishwasher in reverse order.

Dishes weren't getting clean
Using the break down view suppled by the PartSelect website I removed the parts covering the broken pump impala. The busted impala also scored the pump housing, which also needed to be replaced. For added measure, I replaced the O rings I encountered (alway a good thing to do while your in there). The shaft of the motor is rusted and I needed to break off the last of the impala with small chisel and some light taps. Before reassembling I used some fine grit sandpaper on the shaft, don't go wild here, a tight fit is better than a sloppy one. Total time on the repair wasn't that long. (But don't tell the wife, it bought me a cupple quarters of football!)

Dishwasher started to make a grinding noise and was very loud
I disconnected the dishwasher and started to take the impeller assembly apart but could not get it all apart. Went on line to start looking for the parts and came to Partselect and they had and exploded view of the the whole inside assembly and I saw what was wroung, some parts had broken and melted together. With this picture I was able to see what had happened and able to get it all apart. Ordered the bad parts, got them within a week (this was over the hoildays), took about 15 minutes to get the new parts in and the dishwasher running. It runs great now, very quiet, it's like a new dishwasher for $30. P.S. I had to order some extra parts because one of my dogs was helping me and chew them up.

Leak caused by bad gasket on motor shaft
I had to remove all parts of the dishwasher until I got down to the main gasket on the motor and then replaced all gaskets and discharge . I used the parts diagram to make sure every thing went back in the correct spot.

Dishwasher making loud noise
My dishwasher started making a loud screeching noise so I took apart the bottom assembly of the dishwasher to see where the noise was coming from. I found the part that had come loose and went to partselect.com to see if I could find the replacement part. I quickly found the part and the price was very reasonable. The repair was fairly easy. Once I pulled out the bottom rack in the dishwasher I unscrewed the plastic piece that held the rotating spray assembly. Once that was unscrewed 3 pieces were removed. A nutdriver was then used to remove a large cover at the bottom of the dishwasher. Once it was out of the way I could reach the discharge housing assembly with the nutdriver to remove it. I swapped the parts over to the new discharge housing then reassembled and it works like new again!

Loud grinding noise
We heard a horrible grinding noise just after starting the machine TWO DAYS before Christmas. On a whim, I disassembled the lower spray arm assembly right down to the wash impeller. I ran the dishwasher and heard no grinding noise, so I knew it wasn't a problem with the motor/bearings. After taking out the old parts, I noticed the discharge pump housing was in two pieces, and judging by the look of it and how those two pieces were fitting together, felt something must be wrong with them. I ordered a new discharge pump housing unit and a few extra parts just to be sure, and after 30 minute install of the new parts, the dishwasher is back to life. A $65 shot in the dark repair by a non-repairman vs. a new dishwasher... I'll take the shot in the dark. Thanks PartSelect!! I'm on to ordering a new utensil basket now!!

Diswadher making a loud, low screeching type sound
I disassembled the bottom assembly to get to the discharge pump housing, removed it and saw that the disc was detached. I cleaned the assembly and all screens in the sink. The built up soap scum actually needed some scrubbing bubbles cleaner to loosen and soften, then came out with warm water and sprayer in the kitchen sink. I carefully reassembled, being mindful of over-tightening the screws in the plastic parts. Ran a cycle to wash out any remaining soap scum and chemicals and it runs like a champ.

Loud noise
disasembled lower spray piece by piece got to pump found in 2 pieces looked up part number , went to PartSelect found part ordered. it came with in 24 hours . had left tools etc. out, installed . only thing to watch is adjusting new part by screwing shaft to the same hight as original pump so spray spins without hitting sides.$20 cost instead of buying new machine or paying to have repair sevice.

When the water was pumping out the pump made a rather loud noise
Took it apart, using the blown up view on your website and replaces the part. It only took about 20 minutes including cleaning the water discharge filter.
